Is it not possible to select seats when travelling on a Avios ticket on partner airlines? Have a booking with QR connecting to AY and cannot see seat selection anywhere online/app with BA, QR or AY.

If I use Avios to book an AA domestic return flight where the return leg will loosely connect with another Avios flight, I still need to decide but would be happy to build a 1 night stop into the connection, and there is some disruption to the flight - will AA actively assist me to get to my destination?
Apart from once upgrading a flight with Avios I have never booked an award flight!

Sorry, I didn't mean to ask about 'protection' and not expecting that. My use of the word destination may have been a poor choice on my part!
My trip is A-B and then B-C, if A-B is disrupted will AA actively help purely on the A-B leg of an Award ticket or is it down to me to track down call centres or whatever?
The response will assist me in determining how long of a self connect I need to allow for

Apologies if this has been covered previously - I am considering using 2-4-1 with Avios to fly LGW - Aruba (AUA), which connects via Antigua (ANU). Is it permissible on the return journey to get off at Antigua to spend several days there then return to LGW from ANU on the same voucher and Avios? I suspect that it's not possible (and would have to buy a separate one-way cash ticket from AUA to ANU and book an open-jaw return), but would welcome comments/advice on this.

I have an American airlines award bought with avios from BAEC, but there is no way to choose a seat...? It's a business class ticket and I did not get any e-ticket number more than BAs booking reference.
Is there a way to choose seat?

if you go on to BA and on manage my booking and select seats, it should show you a reference for AA, and a link to take you to the booking on AA.com where you can select seats.

Does anyone understand why YVR-LHR nonstop flights appear to be pricing at 90,000 Avios on the BA website? This seems to be the case both on peak days (e.g. Feb 4 2024) and non-peak (e.g. Feb 7 2024). The distance is 4700 miles, so should be band 6 (62,500 Avios off-peak and 75,000 peak), whereas 90,000 is band 7 peak.

If you click through to the quote page you will see a range of pricing options now we have RFS on long haul. One should correspond to the old band rate.
90000 Avios + 225.00
76000 Avios + 340.00
62500 Avios + 420.00
54000 Avios + 650.00
45000 Avios + 850.00
31250 Avios + 1,000.00
76000 Avios + 340.00
62500 Avios + 420.00
54000 Avios + 650.00
45000 Avios + 850.00
31250 Avios + 1,000.00

Aha, thanks. I'd wondered about this. Maybe the issue is not understanding how the cash portion is calculated. Looking at YVR to LHR, the website wants to charge $558.53 in fees at the 90k Avios rate, and $858.53 in fees at the 62.5k Avios rate. The YQ and taxes on a revenue ticket would be $569.23, so, very close to the former number.

Separate issue -- seems that when booking online with a companion pass, there's no range of pricing options; but the only choice given is highest points/least cash rather than the old band option?
