Randox seems to get positive comments for the DXB required RT-PCR in this thread, and seems to have an acceptable QR code, so you should be fine with that one.

UK to DXB

On-arrival testing

Is it still the case that every UK flight is being "randomly" selected for on-arrival testing? Or has that calmed down?

Friends arrived on the morning BA flight today and it was tested. Apparently one pax "lost his cool" as he "wasn't informed" and had to be escorted away

I arrived back from Dubai on Monday morning and yesterday NHS Track and Trace sent me a text that I had been in close contact with someone who had tested positive. Fortunately I only need a week’s worth of lateral flow tests, the first two of which have been negative.

Just seen this on another forum, if true then great news.
The person was on a flight arriving this morning

' Arrived in Dubai this morning and happy to confirm that our flightwas not tested at the airport and was told by our Marhaba rep that as from yesterday No PCR testing will be done on any UK flight on arrival ! Thought I’d share'

Quick datapoint on BA105 yesterday/today.
No PCR on arrival, whereas India arrival was.

We used the Marhaba family meet & greet which was good, skipped a couple of short queues but didn’t help with the bottlenecks around the monorail. In the absence of PCR on arrival I probably wouldn’t bother booking this service again. But I can believe that if the airport were busy and PCR on arrival was in play then it would be worth it.

Flight itself excellent in Club. Service prompt and efficient. Food as described one tray and basic but not in any way bad. The curry was actually great and a one tray service does have merit on a short night flight. Preferred the breakfast croissant to anything pertaining to be an ‘English breakfast’ with eggs which never work on a plane.

As an aside, T5 still uncannily quiet and GC B lounge bordering on deserted. Champagne and a couple of decent wines (one Pouilly Fume) on self pour and cafeteria style QR code food ordering basic but again, not bad for what it is.

Overal happy customer.

Definitely no testing off BA105 this morning. Arrivals were being split at the top of the escalators to Immigration, UK went left, Istanbul, Moscow, India were being sent right (presumably to testing).

Quick point about PCR tests. Ended up taking Randox 12-14 hour test at Manchester, result back in 7 hours. But nobody in the UK or in the UAE required the QR code, the result wasn't even asked for at all at immigration, and the people before the transit simply gave it a cursory glance.

AFAIK 100% of Abu Dhabi arrivals are tested upon arrival regardless of origin.

Hi all, flying to Dubai Friday, will report on how it goes. Basic question, but is there anything I need to prove beyond a PCR? Lots of rumours flying around about local apps to download, and proof of insurance.

Hi,

Welcome to flyertalk and the BA forum manchestergold!

Whilst insurance is a good idea, I was not asked for it either at check in or on arrival at DXB ( I was on BA)

One app that is mentioned is the Al Hosn app but that is for Abu Dhabi. If just stayimg in Dubai then you do not need a local app.

Regards

TBS

I can understand the confusion. I arrived on B105 this morning, no PCR test on arrival, the folks who normally help you board the inter-terminal train were glancing at the PCR pre-departure PCR check. They seem to just care there was a QR code...I think any QR code would do. I don't think they were reading anything on the certificate. It was all rather normal aside from the masks.

However, there several points in the pre-departure paperwork/VERIFLY that still imply the need for an app/insurance, but no one checked/asked me.

Also, printed copies of the prerequisites seemed to make everyone feel better even if they didn't really get used.
