They have access to Almost@Home because JAL is listed on the airlines allowed.

the oneworld site just lists BA for access to Almost@Home. JAL are shown on the AY lounges, although the AY lounges say any oneworld airline. Is JAL shown on the signs outside the lounge? Tbh it wouldn't be unusual that the oneworld site hasn't been updated yet.

Mtikky - little OT but what's going on with BA799 this evening? Arrived in Helsinki ahead of schedule but now deleyed at least for 2 hours?

Do you need to clear Passport Control and re-enter through Passport Control again or you can go straight to the departure gate after disembarking?

see this post for a b2b at HEL https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...3&postcount=13

you remain in the non Schengen area, no security, no passport control, no bp check.

Fresh flight crew spotted a cut on the nearside landing gear. Engineer called and tyre changed in situ with all of us on board. Refreshments provided to all - juice / water to ET and champagne for CE. All kept informed and reasonably happy.

No EC261 claim I presume for the delay because of the length of the flight?

The bus on my inbound BA794 fed in at gate 51 downstairs so a B2B would have been easy.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear you were well taken care of while tyre was changed. Not like on my recent BA First flight in a similar situation. Not a single refill of PDB LPGS while waiting, but that's another story.

The AY website lounge guide does state that "access may be limited at peak times". They also won't accept paid guests between 1pm and 6pm.

The questions remain; Is it policy to reject all non-AY pax:
  • At all times until refurb complete?
  • Daily between 1pm - 6pm?
  • Or only when they are 'busy'?

I tried to get into the AY lounge the other afternoon with BA boarding pass and was told the lounge was for passengers flying with AY tickets only for now. This was due to the reduced capacity while they refurbish the Gold lounge. The lounge was absolutely packed at the time. I was told that I could use almost@home instead.

Not sure about JAL but their sign as well as other oneworld airlines' were at the entrance.

I think it's option 1 based on my experience.

As a data point in MMB for HEL-LHR 10-02 it lists the Almost@Home as the lounge to go to. That said if I see a sign saying I have access to the AY lounge i'll be walking outside with the staff to look at said sign with me & suggesting it's removal. As with others I understand lounges need to be built/ changed etc etc from time to time but if you're going to do that then putting a sign showing my OW status grants me access kind of means you don't then get to turn me away in direct contravention to what your own sign says ( obviously i'll be diplomatic about such things to avoid a DYKWIA moment).

But this happens all the time, no? I wasn‘t let in PHL‘s BA lounge when flying AA as it was already at capacity. AFAIK it also showed the OWE sign there (not AA though to be fair).
