I used it for the first time earlier this week (flying QR I wanted a lounge in non-Schengen area to maximise lounge time). It was ok, soft drinks are pour out of a 2 litre bottle (which tends to loose carbonation) and the food on that occassion wasn’t to my taste.

Is the Almost at home lounge available via status is it PP/ DP access?
Thinking ahead for planning and keeping the good lady happy. Tbh we feel quite at home in the LGW Club Lounge so standards aren't astronomical however anything below that level we have been known to tut

I was on that flight - I want to say about 45 minutes to an hour? It was due to the previous flight being delayed, so I imagine that caused some knock on effect of playing catch up and getting things ready. That said, we still arrived in relatively decent time — I remember it being before midnight when I went through the border control on the way to the GoSleep area which I thought was reasonable given the delay. The CE crew were also excellent in my experience once the dust had settled from the initial problems.
I remember reading a post that those pods get very warm and they weren't kidding! If you're doing a pure run and not as part of a proper trip, it might be worth taking some loose/airy clothes to sleep in if you plan to use them. That said, the area was quieter than I expected (up until flights started rolling off again) and they provide earplugs.
The Almost@Home lounge is fine - noted above that you pour stuff out of a bottle so some things may lose its fizziness but was fairly quiet waiting for my flight back and getting fed on the flight, I wasn't so fussed anyway. YMMV depending on your experience, but I am a mere travel luddite.
Was fun to do this sort of thing for the first time, looking forward to trying out more silliness in the future - but first, to get a proper kip!

Refused entry to the FinnAir lounge travelling on BA metal. Capacity issue was quoted with lounge half empty. Lied to me when I asked if the fact they don’t accept the OW pax is on the OW website. I will lodge a complaint with OW and BA - not that it will mean anything

Same. Capacity not cited. “British Airways customers are not allowed. You have access to a better lounge near gate 32”.
I could only see 2 people in the finnair lounge from the entrance desk.
There is the almost@home lounge at 32, and I guess their contract with BA requires them to grant access, but it doesn’t require them to have any seating. I had 1 beer (nice - self serve on tap) and left as all seating occupied. Salad buffet looked ok, but I didn’t try it. Lots of quiet space at the very end of T2 at the new gates - 53 to 55.
I understand they can’t create a lounge from thin air. Equally the prior lounges couldn’t cope with the 2 pm till 4:30 pm rush, so I hope the plans include a significant increase to lounge capacity.
