A business trip is taking me out-and-back to HEL so i’ve added my details. Even midweek and close in it’s surprisingly reasonably priced. Delighted to meet any BAEC FTers.

yes you just pass through passport control and keep walking. You have to go through passport control anyway on arrival to get out, the only difference is instead of going down after passport control to the baggage hall you just stay on the same level and keep walking. There aren’t two separate terminals, it’s basically one long continuous building.

Yes, life is cruel sometimes... OTH, love is blue too....
If you post your flights, someone will help you with entering the details into the wiki. To edit the wiki, per FT rules, you need 90+ days of membership and 90+ posts under your belt. So, I'm sorry to say I can't show you the secret handshake yet.

You are now in the wiki. Your friend will be referred to as +1. Don't worry about not meeting others, they'll swarm these flights

I haven't seen a pattern but the majority of my flights have been from a stand then bus to or from the terminal I think maybe only twice I've been from the gates.

You are most welcome. Wiki updated, 86 more posts and a month to go and you'll be helping yourself and others to the same procedure

I’m afraid it is completely random from my experience on this route. The b2b’s are probably 95% doable as long as you’re somewhere in the front row getting off. It s a shame though not being able to take advantage of the Finnair lounges, as they are quite nice.

WE ARE IMPROVING LOUNGES AT HELSINKI AIRPORT
We are renovating the Non-Schengen area lounge starting in October 2018. The renovation will go on until May 2019 and then we can give you an even better lounge experience.
The food and beverage selection will be limited during the improvements. Our breakfast will include for example bread rolls, yogurt and coffee, and after breakfast you can enjoy wraps, soup, salads and bread.
The shower cabins and sauna at the non-Schengen lounge will be closed as of 1 October 2018. If you are transferring and your next flight will be leaving from the Schengen area, you can use our Schengen lounge services. We apologize for the temporary limitations.
The renovations will not affect the opening hours, and you can enjoy the lounge services daily from 5.30 a.m. to 12 midnight.

Oh no! I was looking forward to the sauna - I haven't actually used that one before! Does that go for the Premium Lounge too? (Obviously the sauna is shared, but what about the food offering in the Premium?)

Schengen lounges will be even a bigger zoo now.
However, Plaza Premium Lounge will open in February which should be possible to visit with Priority Pass or Diners Club card.

Just of note, already checked in on Saturday's BA794 1125 LHR - HEL (through ticket off BA2777 1910 JER - LGW Friday) and CE is all the way back to row 11... exit row CE anyone? (I've gone for 11F)
