Onboard WiFi has been introduced to BA's fleet and is being marketed as Highlife Connect. This thread is to track the rollout. See https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb.../wifi-on-board for BA's FAQ on the system.

A350-1000 - All fitted (12 aircraft).

A380 - All fitted (12 aircraft)

I flew on 787 to HKG on Monday. It had the on.air wifi signs at the door entering the plane but not functioning wifi.

Quite annoying on such a long flight to not have connectivity.

Could it have been an increase in price over the new year?

Different flight length? E.g. 1h55 vs 2h05, with each flight in a different pricing band?

I flew the 380 LHR-LAX last week. Although I was charged for the wifi if was indeed nonexistent. Very disappointing on an 11 hour flight.

Appreciate I may be misreading the list, but sitting on G-TTNP, and it definitely doesn’t have Wi-Fi. Also checked with crew.

Confused me as it’s a 2021 delivery.

Ditto on 787-8 ZBJA to Chennai on 20/1. Big old .air sticker by the door, no BA WiFi network. (A locked one named after the plane’s rego appeared briefly, which was tantalising but just a tease.)

Flew the A350-1000 Sao Paolo to LHR on 09/10 Jan and despite there being an announcement that Wi-Fi would be available on 12hr flight.... The network never appeared. BA offered me 10k Avios, which I thought was rather pathetic. I was in business and was hoping to catch up on a bunch of work during the flight. Of course had they announced that the Wi-Fi wasn't working during boarding, I could have pre-downloaded a bunch of things to do. Live and learn with BA! On my trip to Rio a few weeks prior, on a tired old 777, whilst flying economy, the Wi-Fi worked like a charm the entire flight. Murphy's Law I suppose.

I'm on the BA117 tomorrow morning to JFK, which seems to have had a last-minute equipment swap to a 787-9 G-ZBKF. Not sure I've ever seen one of those on this route before - must be quite unlucky.

Based on the list in this thread, this is one of the ones without WiFi. I don't suppose there's any hope that it has been upgraded recently? I was really counting on getting some work done.

All B787 have a network for the FAs to access the system. This is normally hidden but appears while on the ground.

Just done a return to Funchal. Out on G-TTNO. Had a WiFi portal but couldn't get past the 'Connecting to satellite for payment portal' message. I guess the card machine for BOB runs on satellite connection? That wasn't working too, meaning no sales, despite significant demand. Like the digestives being handed out but you can't buy a cuppa to dip them in!

G-TTNS on the return, machine working, but no WiFi portal available at all.

Just not great for three hour and above services.

If i may direct you to this dedicated thread below (first one) and varying views/experiences etc. I think your post might be merged there so hopefully maybe others will comment. There's another related thread there too, the 2nd one.

See post 859 in the first thread re a recent experience but I'm sure there's plenty more in there. Plus crazy8534 has added his own experiences in the 2nd one as well as others experiences.

Apologies if this has been raised/covered elsewhere, I couldn't immediately see anything!

Is there a wider problem with the 787 fleet? Specifically the -10. I'd hope not, as they're one of the newest sets of planes along with the A350 in the fleet!

2x -10 flights in the past 3 days, different airframes and both times 'sorry, the Wi-Fi isn't working' on both. Hugely frustrating, crew seemingly shrugging their shoulders and major indifference.
