Just retired the last aircraft flying with angled lie flat seats (a 767) I believe, so job complete.
As for the subject at hand, I tried the new service on the 114 last week, and was surprised at the proper large menu offered, so much so that I checked with the crew this was actually a sleeper service, to which they replied yes, it's the new sleeper service...
Loved the new glassware and crockery, and bedding great.
What I enjoyed less was the fact that it was a rather tatty looking un refurbished 744 (which I thought they don't use anymore on the route).

I have enjoyed the new service twice now on the JFK route. On both occasions the food has been lovely but the meal takes much too long. Clearly all of the manual plating and preparation of the trolley has made an already slow service painfully so. I think this is more down to intricacy of the process rather than teething. If it's slow on the UD of a 747 I think it's going to be actually unworkable when it gets to an A380.

First time LHR-JFK. Food really good (Beef Carpaccio and some horseradish based cream then the beef cheeks) but fairly slow so drink your G&T slowly because it may be a long time till you get something else (use the time to marvel at how we finally have nuts in a bowl).
Bedding is excellent though I can see the stowage problems with some aircraft. I was in the forward mini cabin and the overhead bin was quite full with cabin baggage, the giant pillows and bedding.
Overall a very welcome improvement.

Lovely Club flight home from JFK yesterday. I went outbound in WT+ and lost almost every bit of my faith in BA by arrival into EWR. The return however was a truly class service, sumptuous bedding and a really great crew who offered up what is fab about this airline.
It’s difficult and I was traveling with many doubters but they were all impressed and the overwhelming opinion was the quality of the food and the class of the service. Finally you’re getting competitive BA!
Will be back for sure
Was breakfast service and then refreshment Plate which is pictured first but was served an hour out of LHR on the BA 178

The presentation looks better than First!

It is indeed. I also personally like the new plates and mugs (and I normally dislike mugs). I do not like what they are using for wine and Champagne glasses, I think it makes no sense and is bad for the wine, and I actually think that the wine list is quite a bit less good than before, but this is more than made up for by the food improvements in my view (admittedly I'm not a big drinker).

Exactly. Trying to put first world J soft products into a second-tier J hard product. If you had a reverse herringbone configuration everyone would get their own huge overhead bin with room for bedding and both bags. But Alex Crux rolls his eyes at those who suggest BA go in that direction
