Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833
-------------------------
Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

We're off to Tenerife. Hopefully still hot in November.
As it is an early flight, it'll be croissants in the lounge and full English breakfast on board (well, I'll eat the bacon and sausage and bread roll).
Reminds me, looked for the Bolney self pour in the lounge this month to try a sip, none to be seen. Well, it was early morning, 8 ish, so too early I suppose

The Rotations are set in stone, seemingly, moreover so far the menu contents have not altered since they started in the Spring. I guess they will change at some point, but as far as I can tell, November is the same Rotation A as last time. If you check back here in the first few days of November usually someone will have posted something new, but I doubt it will change.

Added CWS's useful post 1175 into the Wiki since we seem to get a lot of questions around that. Feel free to modify as appropriate.

Got the "Long short-haul" treatment LHR-HEL-LHR again for a change. Total inconsistency. One way we got the full treatment, starting with a drinks service, tray served from trolley, mains served individually and coffee/tea service individually. So everything was spot-on par the lack of menus.
The other way I had to wait for 1.5 hours before I got food (and even then still no drinks). They did go through the trouble of taking orders first though. Personally absolutely hated the service on this flight. No surprise that I got the beetroot starter again
Well, at least we get 2 forks and 2 knives nowadays. It also seems I should be happy to just get fed on a flight nowadays.

Fantastic service in my LHR - GLA yesterday - drinks run with cashews followed by a nice meal service and multiple top-ups offered. Champagne was chilled and the crew were fantastic. Was only four rows of CE which maybe helped. As previously mentioned it is the total inconsistency in service levels and styles that is frustrating. When you get a good crew CE can be a very enjoyable experience.
Next week I have four sectors with KLM and Air France in short haul business and am quite intrigued to see how they compare.

English breakfast on LHR-MAD flight
Scrambled eggs were disgusting everything else was just ok. Meal was warm, not hot - I guess it got cold by the time the crew go to the last row...
Really miss the fresh fruit from the tray... but hey, now we got a bread plate!

Just an update, flew to Barcelona in late September and ordered Asian Vegetarian. Got a really nice lentil salad with couscous and spiced Tofu plus a cardomen and sultana cheese cake. Very tasty although would have loved some veggie sushi instead. Apologies for not posting sooner. This was on a 5:30pm flight

There were no choices on my recent jolly to MAN.
Afternoon tea was just sandwiches (no salad alternative) and on the way back, for dinner, it was just the salad (no hot sandwich).

The menu containng beef check is my favourite one. A very minor issue is that the oatcakes and hazelnut tower look similar from above. It is a little bit dull. Luckily the taste is different and event the dessert is wonderful.
