I'm a HBO traveller on SH and would never pay the extra non-HBO price just to select a seat, however if that fare was just £15 more expensive with same day flexibility I would definitely take it, so it looks like this could be a genuine enhancement ^

I just checked a LHR-MUC and LHR-BRU return in the "with checked bag" option. Fare rules state the new rules. Same price as before.

A couple of fares I'm looking at have shot up dramatically too, I have a feeling it's just a glitch.

The initial screen offers:
- HBO: from £48 each way, actually £94 total (no change).
- With checked bag: £764 fully flex fare (next screen says standard and semi-flex “sold out”)
- Club Europe from £390 going out, not available on the return
Selecting HBO gives on the next screen:
- HBO semi-flex: +£235 = £329, but selecting it gives £359 with bags
- HBO fully-flex: +£640 = £734, but selecting it gives £764 with bags
So the fares actually available for purchase in Euro Traveller are:
- HBO: £94
- Semi-flex: £359
- Fully-flex: £764
So big fare hikes unless you fly HBO, and premature release with lots of IT bugs ...

Hmm this is interesting!
I had been looking at £110 for a non-HBO. Now it's £116 but as a semi flex - seat selection 48 hrs prior (moot for me as silver), no change fee and free same day changes. So that'd be a great enhancement for just a few extra quid. Although if you had no reason to use it then it's a price hike for no reason.
It still talks about "standard" tickets when you click through but they've "sold out" - my understanding from the PDF is that these will be gone

1. BA fares page only has space for 2 of the 3 types of ET fares.
2. For TXL if you select the flexible fare, it claims that the less flexible fares are sold out.
3. No CE fare is available for the return.
4. Intermediate pages quote prices for flexible HBO fares which do not seem to exist.
Is this peculiar to LHR-TXL, or do other routes have the same problems?

Edinburgh flights have not changed in price after the switch but the flexibility has - this is great news as I always get to the airport early but can't book an earlier flight as I can't guarantee I will get away from work. This gives me a chance to get home a bit earlier if I can. I also like the fact there is no change fee. For me these fares are worth the premium over the HBO fares.
Well done BA!

A bit OT but prob not worth its own thread...
If arriving into LHR on a long haul reward ticket with two hold bags and connecting to a paid sh ticket both on BA metal, what fare bracket would need to be booked to allow luggage to be through ticketed?
