Price Creep

I have been watching fares LHR-EDI return in May. These are both with and without bags; over the last 10 days there has been a significant creep in the fares in all classes. Many might say its because of the cheaper fares are selling, but I think it a little odd that all classes on all flights on my dates have gone up simultaneously in the last few days.

Just wondering if this is being forced by revenue management ahead of the "enhanced" fare structure changes in the next week?

Any other regular buyers noticed this upward creep?

Flight Passes are currently unavailable through Optiontown - a hunch tells me these may be connected

I'd like to see

'Free flight changes on the day of departure' well advertised- good for competing with the low cost airlines.

They don't make any particular fanfare about it. They might now...

I've taken some screenshots of a flight i was going to book (HBO) but have waited to see these fares for comparison. Same day changes might be useful if i need to come back earlier in the day.

Still nothing. Hmm, not sure when it'll change. I assumed it would be 1/2am.

Price difference from HBO to checked is still the same £10 or so each way. This is what you see on the next page now where you can increase flexibility. The checked bag fare is still cheap with no flexibility

Example is taken from LHR-MAD

I'm trying to book a return flight to MAD just to test the new fares but I'm getting a system error.

I *think* that's the same screen as has always been there, with more or less the same premium ? .. No difference yet when I checked this morning .. I don't think they've actually made this change yet ?

The new “hand baggage only” and “with checked bag” fare categories now appear on ba.com for the CDG route.

The screenshots below show the fare and comparable benefits applicable to an O class fare.
