Spotted this on Instagram a few days ago, posted by a member of staff I'm assuming.

Apparently it was blocked in the hangar, so the pax were told, and then they had a slight MX issue, then added extra fuel. My friend on board said it looked sparklingly clean!

It looks surprisingly good! Amazing how much difference the new larger screens make.

Also I notice that the entire back of the seats seem different with a new plastic shell - i'm sure before they were material.

I think you might be on to something. Maybe the adjustments needed to fit the new entertainment system to the 'old' seats was too big and it was easier to replace them with the new design with the fixed screen ? If you are right, you are FT detective of the month (at least). ^

If so, I expect a very long "will my flight have NGNF* ? thread in the near future.

The link to the Instagram picture which SinoBritAsia posted in reply #105 has the question about the new B789 F vs. current B744 F. The picture poster claims F has not been upgraded to the new B789 seat, but has just had a very deep clean and the new Panasonic IFE screens and system fitted - so sounds like disappointment for a few people out there.

Probably. Too bad as I don't like the NF cabin in the 747 at all.

Interesting to see mood lighting installed, extra bonus!

The whole product looks superb! A lot better than what I was expecting!

Definitely. I was initially surprised that they would not be replacing the seats in WT and WT+, but it does look like the new seat covers and new IFE have gone a long way in putting new life into those old seats.

I thought CIHY said the CW seats would be updated to the A380/787 colour scheme... Oh well it still looks like an upgrade for the old 744's.
