Yes, they've added seats to replace the onboard downstairs lounge

The new position of the WT+ cabin doesn't do it any favours. The loss of the single throne seats and the presence now of a lavatory gives a high probability of being in a poor seat in this cabin.

One to avoid.

I imagine the new upholstery in WT/WTP will look exactly like it does on the refurbished longhaul 767s.

While the 16 extra CW may come with 2 extra crew, there are no new toilets allocated to CW - expect longer queues.

It was 3 toilets for 50 CW seats (ratio 0.06:1) downstairs changing to 3 toilets for 66 CW (ratio 0.045:1). On the upper deck, the ratio is 0.1:1. Shortest queues are upstairs.

Or expressed in the more meaningful inverse ratio:

16.7 passengers/toilet from 22 passengers/toilet on the main deck.
10 passengers/toilet on the upper deck.

Still better than the A380/777/787 ratios..

I agree that this new configuration loses the particular attractions of the 70J configuration, but it's no worse than the mid-J WT+.

Am I right in thinking that the IFE on this aircraft is new and not on any other in the BA fleet yet? (aside from the 789 that isn't yet in service).

That'll be interesting to see. Naturally it'll be leaps ahead of what it has replaced, but it'll be good to see how it improves on the Thales system.

My 747 WT+ journeys in Sept LHR-ORD return still seem to be for older 747 jets as I have seats in rows 14 and 30. Is there any way of knowing which flights the super j is going to be used for in advance?

Yes, by the J/W/Y seat maps.

It is much worse in terms of exit, on Mid-J you could be among the first off the plane and into immigration que's

Is it normal to have such a few toilets per person? It seems like the rear half of club world, all of WT+ and the front half of WT are going to be sharing one toilet?!

Yes, though I suspect it still won't be nearly as good as my 2012 iPad.

What's the 744 aircraft code in MMB? Do we know which routes this is likely to be on?

Good to have the new IFE. Are these the only planes to have the Panasonic? Is it wildly different to Thales? Apologies for the raft of questions - I was trying to find the information elsewhere first!

The new B744 refits are the only one with the Panasonic system, none of us have seen it yes but have been told it has been built to look very much like the Thales system.
