Is there any information about when the remaining candidates will be sent off for refurbishment or will they want to run CIVF for a while first to make sure they've got all the bugs out?
And am I correct in understanding that all the 744s that aren't part of this refurbishment will be retired soon (for whatever value of "soon")?

Well, I really hope that before too long there'll be no aircraft with the Rockwell Collins IFE on the JFK route. I actively try to only book on 777-operated flights because I find the Thales IFE so much better for distracting me during a long flight. I'd actually prefer to fly Y with Thales over W with Rockwell Collins.
