As the 787-9's arrive what aircraft will be retired? Or are the topping up a very stretched fleet?

Austin will get 4-class service 787-9 from 22FEB16, instead of 01FEB16.
Thanks for the post and glad the BA 787-9 is coming to Austin, but the best I can tell from the schedule, it begins on February 1, but then on March 25, changes back to 777 service. Maybe I am not an expert on this, but what is the explanation of this schedule where the 787-9 debuts on the route on February 1, and then stops on March 25. I want to fly in April and want to fly in F on the 787-9. Thanks to all for any help on this.

LOL I will sit tight and wait for Christmas, with hope that the 787-9 will still by flying AUS-LHR in April.

I suspect that the change coincides with the move to the summer schedule.

The 789 deliveries seem to be happening quite fast. By April, 7-10 will be in service. 5 already confirmed to have delivery dates before new years. So you've got a good chance of them sending one to AUS.

My flight is now a 789! ^

Looking forward to the evolved F seat.

Interestingly I'm not able to see the redemption of the 789 on BA, only the 777. Any ideas? I checked the week of Nov 13

I didn't realize your question was intended to mean "how frequently will BA serve LHR-DEL with a 789?"

Will be interesting… The flight crew already complain about the noise from the front galley when they are in their rest area, when there is hardly any service from the front galley.

Lord knows what they are going to be like when it is the First galley…

Looks like the first BA -9 is well advanced through final assembly, as of 31 July: http://kpae.blogspot.com/
