Must admit I tend to agree.

It worked back then but todays crowd seem more interested in taking life too seriously.

In no particular order I think the following members should be considered:

dutch_122 who has helped so many re TP runs ^

LondonElite for the creation of the very popular DYKWIA Thread and all the funny stories within........most of which are believable.

corporate-wage-slave for all his help/advice and the knowledge he shares including the many threads he has created and his massive contribution to the Dashboard.

Stez for his wonderful Lounge Meet Up Thread.

Paralytic for his continued funny dry wit over many years. ^

KARFA For his organisation of Do's, his helpful posts and TR's (Stop referring to him as young, he is the wrong side of 30 )

A joint Mucci award to all the BA CC, Pilots, ATC and other members of staff who contribute here. ^

HIDDY and Phil the Flyer (is he still on here?!) have enough Muccis between them to last several lifetimes already so no nominations for them please

My 2p worth - I don't see any harm at all in keeping the Muccis going. It's a thing that gives this forum a bit of individuality and character.

Those that don't care can ignore it as they choose.

What exactly is a "Mucci"??

I think I must have joined too late to understand how it came about so if someone can fill in the gaps that would be useful....

It has not been mentioned for years as far as I can recall and any one of us could have started a new honour to take it's place. The fact that this has not happened may indicate in favour of my statement above.

Well said.

Thank you sir. After the recent "picture gate" scandal, I am very conscious of the need to protect my modesty. Honoured as I am, I think there are far more hands dirty members who deserve it despite my attempts at orchestrating.

+1 for dutch_122 for all his help with booking so my trips for us.

And the Lounge Meet Up Thread is an institution so Stez deserves one as well.

Young KARFA is 6 weeks less wiser than I am (and it undoubtedly shows though he's making strives of progress). So young is quite appropriate (not least because I am still young too!!!).

I do enjoy the democratic aspect of these honours (though understand the final say is with Her Glamorousness).

Mucci awards could always evolve to accommodate a new type of posting but unfortunately everything is far too serious. Not many people seem to enjoy the piss taking, and sometimes puerile nonsense aspect award ceremonies usually stem from.

Tongue-in-cheek inflammatory posts - DELETED
Winding people up - DELETED
Thread derailing - DELETED
Personal posts - Usually DELETED
Joke threads - Usually DELETED

While this doesn't always leads to a changing board, it certainly leads to a less exclusive, less personal, clinical board reducing potential for, in this case, MUCCIs.

We NEED awards like this for light-hearted fun. I dislike the serious nature of this board. It's time the board and awards evolve.

I think the time has come and gone for this sort of stuff. It's not very inclusive, confuses newcomers and has nothing to do with BA.

With all due respect to the OP the board has moved on.

Those not having a Mucci might be the exclusive club around here soon.

PUCCI GALORE was/is one of BA's longest serving CSD's.

A MUCCI is an award bestowed on those who tickle her fancy.

As opposed to them who fancies her tickles (though I believe some people fit in both camps).

Anyhow I think all the people nominated so far are deserving of the honour. Or possibly not deserving seeing as they actually contribute something useful to the board whereas many of us acquired our MUCCIs as a result of random silliness.

Not much MUCCI action in 2014 but let's not forget this thread:

KARFA The Organizer. Always busy with DO's.

LondonElite DYKWIA. Just love it.

Thanks to all for the explanation of the Mucci concept. As a relative newcomer to this forum, I found the concept as clear as the rules of "Mornington Crescent".
