Flying Club World AUSTIN TX to LHR into T5 arriving 9:35am connecting BA Club Europe to Rome out of T3 at 12:45pm.

Where is the best spot for a shower?

BA FCO flights depart from T5, not T3. You can therefore use the showers adjacent to the Elemis Travel Spa in the South Lounge complex (on the floor below Galleries Club, between Galleries First and the Concorde Room). There are also showers within the Galleries Club North lounge.

FCO moves to T3 later this year. Personally, I'd dispense with flight connections first, then shower/freshen up at the T3 Galleries lounge.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten FCO was moving. In that case, the OP can either go landside and use the Galleries Arrivals lounge in T5 before taking the free HEx to T3, or go straight to T3 via Flight Connections (staying airside) and use the showers next to the Elemis Travel Spa between Galleries First and Galleries Club in T3.

Hoping for a little help. I am flying MUC-LHR-BOS and seems like I will be arriving into T5 and departing from there as well. For the wrinkle, I have a 6.5 hour layover and have been invited to a football match in town. I'm flying in business but also have Emerald status.

Will it be easy to access a lounge where I could leave a carry on bag for the afternoon? If that's the case, will be it be easy to find my way out of the airport to immigration/customs? I'm used to just going straight from the plane to the exit.

You will only be able to access the departure lounges prior to your flight to BOS - as a oneworld Emerald, you can use the Galleries First lounge.

There is a cloakroom within the Galleries First lounge, but you can't leave bags here when you go outside the lounge, and certainly not if you leave airside.

You can leave airside by going to the customer service desks and requesting an escort out (operates one per hour) - you can't just walk out, although there's an unofficial route out by going on the transit to T5C, staying on it, and following the arrivals route back through immigration and customs.

In summary, you should make a choice about whether to land yourself after arriving from MUC, or just stay in the Galleries First lounge for the duration of your layover.

If you do decide to land yourself, and you don't want to carry your bag into town, there is a left luggage facility on the arrivals level where you could store your bag. When you exit from customs, turn right and walk towards the far (north) end of the building, and it'll be on your right somewhere closer to domestic arrivals. More details here: http://www.left-baggage.co.uk/ and http://www.heathrowairport.com/heath...s/left-baggage

If you only have 6½ hours between flights, I have some doubts about whether you could safely see all of a football match in town - although it may be that being there for only part of the match will be a problem. Much depends on exact timings.

As a follow up, the left baggage facility worked quite well. And, in spite of some transportation issues (Paddington underground station for H&C and Central lines closed on in bound; Heathrow Express itself shut down on the outbound so had to take a taxi all the way to the airport), things went well and I saw basically the whole match (until after an errant goalie kick spelled doom for QPR).

Any chance I can get a refund from HEX for the unused return ticket?

Prospero, I have not seen any recent posts to confirm that the LGW GF is open until 16:30, so unless I have missed recent confirmation, it might be better to stick to 15:00?

It is still 15:00.

Also not a Galleries First lounge, so you can't use the GF abbreviation
