[EDIT]jameslon beat me to it, but he is saying the same thing[EDIT]
No, you are missing the point here
BAEC confirmed that if you are EURO gold or silver on the 1st of March 2012 you will be allowed to renew for 2 more years with the old threshold. I was in the room with BAEC at Waterside last autumn last year before the official announcements of the BAEC changes.
But, if you drop a tier the UK thresholds apply.
i.e.
Member expiry February 2012. Renews Gold at 800 giving Gold until February 2013.
Will be allowed to renew for 2014 (e.g. until feb 2014) at 800.
Once member year ends in February 2014 the threshold will change to 1500.
In other words if you keep renewing at the old level you wont see the new level until 2014.

Actually according to the program rules, BA can change the TP levels at any time. They can make them higher, lower, change the dates of the change or change nothing at all. Again, why worry? You'll find out your TP requirement when your new year begins.

I'm not interested because there is nothing new here that wasn't discussed up thread long ago. I see no need to bump this thread as absolutely nothing new has happened. It smacks of padding ones post count.

So to clarify this (I was thinking of the Nov date rather than the Mar date), using just gold as an example, if you were gold on Mar 1:
If your year end is Jan 8, can renew as 800 TP gold in 2013 and 2014 and would have a 1500 TP target on Jan 9 2015.
If your year end is Feb 8, can renew as 800 TP gold in 2013 and 2014 and would have a 1500 TP target on Feb 9 2015.
If your year end is Mar 8, can renew as 800 TP gold in 2012 and 2013 and would have a 1500 TP target on Mar 9 2014.
Ditto anyone for Apr and later, who would have a 1500 TP renewal in 2014.
Have I got that right?

And the way I read it was that if your year end is March (like Mrs BBA), then you can renew in March 2013 for the grandfathered level, but you have a 600/1500 target for March 2014

I moved back to the UK last year. My account still says 'To retain your Gold membership you need 800 points.'
Starting to think I should move a couple of trips forward as I'm not too far off, my year end is 8th May. Had intended to just drop to silver, but tempting to stay gold if possible.
Does anybody know if the lower renewal will actually work? My account has had the 800 requirement showing for months. Thanks.
