Or you can fly from JFK on 4OCT:
Considering SQ is available as well, that's a no brainer IMHO
Code:

Hi. Is all this information from 1 web site, which you have copied/pasted or is it from multi sites. I have EF, seat counter as well as ANA but dont seem to get the detailed info listed like this.

I believe this is the output from KVS. However the availability I can see differs from what denCSA has posted, I cannot see either SQ25 or LH411 as available with 2 seats in I-class on 4th October using ANA which seems unusual.
Chase, when booking a one-way journey we have found in practice that mileage is determined by the length of the longest sector which in your case is the transatlantic leg. Therefore it is possible to fly First on LAX-JFK but still be charged Business class mileage overall.

This is the output directly from BD's reservation system, requesting StarNet availability.

Lon - syd 2010
Hi All
Looking for a little help with suggestions for the following.
Looking to fly LON - SYD next year. Leaving early to mid July (not too early say from 7 July onwards) for 4 weeks (or a few days more).
3 adults, biz class (^ miles and cash) ideally with a stopover each way.
In an "ideal" World we would stop somewhere like Singapore on the way out and somewhere else (not Hong Kong) on the way back but I accept that with redemptions you cannot always get what you want
so if it was Seoul both ways it wouldn't be a major problem!
TIA for any suggestions.

Thanks BHDBOY and denCSA. Gone for the early UA flight on the 2nd and the SQ flight back from JFK on the 4th, although from FRA they have us going via LHR, which actually gets us back to MAN an hour earlier, and saves us hanging around FRA for a few hours.
Thanks again
Mike

Enjoy your trip chase. You've given us something interesting to discuss as you have got a seat on the SQ flight which none of us (apart from denCSA) could see using the conventional ANA/KVS system. Given that there were other flights on this day which were also apparently available on denCSA's system but not on ANA/KVS perhaps this is some evidence for some limited StarNet blocking on ANA's part which obviously diminishes the value of the tool.

We have seen, on and off, some +/- variation between availability to BD and what was visible on ANA over the years - plenty of evidence on the board, eve with poor staff and systemic computer glitches.
Is there any suggestion that we are witnessing a change here?

Nothing significant yet, however the discrepancy with both LH411 and SQ25 on the same day is perhaps unusual, especially to someone like myself who has always found ANA 100% accurate.

A quick sanity check and a request for a bit of advice
Dear Esteemed FTers
May I just check the following please?
LX - First redemption, 2.5 time miles (or miles and cash) but does not attract the 10k LH uplift per sector
LX - 340 days out redemption opens (as per a post on this forum I think pointing to awardgrabber) - or now that they are under LH's wing - does that mean 360 days open up?
LX via ZRH to JNB is the aim for 2010 August, is it best to use ExpertFlyer or M&M to check availability?
Is it best to check LHR-ZRH, then ZRH-JNB on EF or the whole thing?
Thanks all, once again, I am attempting to get us to JNB, which some of you may remember was how I got involved with FT last year!
I would appreciate your guidance.
Best wishes.

Hi,
this may be a stupid question, but I'd rather ask here than talk to the ICC: Am I correct in assuming that I can book an LH flight (nothing special, MUC-AMS) with BMI miles, and all that is needed is inventory on LH? I.e. will BMI sell me an award seat that has nothing to do with BD at all?

That said, unless these are just orphan miles that need to be used up, please think twice before redeeming them for something like MUC-AMS.

Thanks.
Since I am not actively collecting with BMI I only have 14,000 stray miles. I need a one-way to Amsterdam, which would cost 4500 miles plus 30-40 EUR tax. This would put 4500 miles at about 100 EUR at current prices, which is not too bad - although of course I will look at earning & burning more miles on BMI..
