Claiming retroactive miles without original boarding passes

On a recent business trip, I had four flight segments on SQ. Two of the segments posted to DC, two however didn't - which was strange since all four were on one SQ ticket. Looks like I have to submit a retroactive claim.

Does anyone know if it's possible to claim retroactive miles without sending the original boarding passes by post as detailed on DC website? My company requires the original boarding passes to be submitted along with my expense claims, otherwise I won't be reimbursed for my flight expense. Is it possible to fax a retroactive claim along with the passes, or post a photocopy of the passes, or perhaps scan them as attachments to an emailed claim?

Yes, it's perfectly possible - I always send my retros as a scan.

Yes, simply fax in your boarding passes and a copy of your eticket receipt to diamond club on 01623 724099. Or you can email a scan. Both methods are tried and tested.

Thank you... delighted to know that BD is flexible.

Previously with ANA I had to go through the trouble of getting SQ and UA to issue official confirmation letters when I had to submit a retroactive claim without original boarding passes. Very inconvenient, and UA actually charges quite a hefty fee to issue such a letter.

Recent chatter on the BMI Facebook page has suggested you can email scans or the e-ticket to diamond [dot] club [at] flybmi [dot]com ... Handy if you used the mobile phone boarding pass facility.

You should ideally remove that e-mail address, or at least obscure it somewhat, otherwise it'll likely be devoured by spambots and end up receiving more junk mail, which will just slow down genuine requests. It's linked in the FAQ anyway.

I've removed the email address for JBOTR.

Two weeks ago I submitted a retro request with scanned BPs from UA to the email address. Got a reply the same day that they've requested confirmation from UA and will be posting it once confirmed. Miles posted within 3-4 days. Very good experience.

A week ago I submitted a virtually identical retro request, again for a missing UA flight. This time, no email reply and no miles have posted yet.

How long would you wait before re-sending the request? I don't want to cause any unnecessary effort on the fine folks at DC

I'd give it up to a month; it's sometimes taken me a good 3-4 weeks to get a reply (particularly if there have been other promos going on that might have *ahem* caused a few problems), but Joanna has always got back to me in the end.

I recently emailed scans of SQ boarding passes, got a response within hours that flights would be added before end of business. Logged in and they were there. Fantastic!

just to share some of my experience three days ago.

due to our accounting procedure, boarding pass of biz trip can never be spared to individual's hand. three days ago, i send retro miles claims with an attachment of the boarding pass scan, together with the E-ticket text. Miraculously I got a reply within TWO HOURS and the miles were posted silmutaneously into my account then.

i reckon it's a sheer call of luck.

Slightly OT, but I have BPs 7 months old, and I know the official rule is 6 months.

Any luck?

Recent report of someone missing the 6 months by a few days, and being denied.

Always worth trying though.
