I called ahead to request the M37. Upon arrival there was a G25 in my spot. I went into the preferred counter and they said that IAH has received a memo 'from above' that they cannot upgrade anyone (PC or CC) into the M37 or any BMWs because they need to be trying harder to upsell the upgrade for the additional revenue.
I guess that is what those commercials mean when they say 'try harder'.

Hmmm, I have the email contact info for the regional district manager. I guess I could just shoot her a note and ask her.
The MKT is nice though. Although, with over 12k miles the XM radio subscription is over. Luckily I can stream music from my phone via bluetooth. That part is nice.

Wow, I shoulda been recording my upgrades last year. It was the same on every rental in DFW last year.
Avis First
reserved standard - 'upgraded' to crown vic in space H75
reserved midsize - 'upgraded' to crown vic in space H75
reserved compact - 'upgraded' to crown vic in space H75
reserved sub-compact - 'upgraded' to crown vic in space H75
reserved bicycle - 'upgraded' to crown vic in space H75
Except once
reserved full-size - 'upgraded' to F150 in D52. I guess overhead clearance in H75 was too low
Thank god Ford quit making crown vics and grand marquis, but I still keep expecting to see a crap-colored brown crown vic with about 75k miles waiting in H75 every week when I walk out there.

They first offered Hyundai Sonata and Crown Vic, but I turned them down and they ran out of Premium cars, so they let me choose between Chevy or Kia or Ford Escape. I should have chosen Ford Escape, but the Chevy is a good car - the only draw back is the fuel consumption.

ATL has an extremely large Avis lot and there were tons of BMWs in the RC (red carpet ) isle. The 528i is comfortable and I like the built in Nav. Wish it had XM, but I am still pleased as it has less than 5k miles on it.
