After I saw the SUV from a distance I went back and requested "something else". Agent said there were no Cadillacs or BMWs left, so they had given me a nice SUV, which I wan't in the mood for. I saw lots of Prii (Priora?) and asked for one, as I'd never driven one before.
Got 53mpg over ~210 miles. Not bad, though Mrs. ralfp was annoyed by the high frequency noises from the inverter (we both have very good hearing).

I always receive nice upgrades at MCO, but rarely the specific car that I've given as my preference in advance of arrival. Thanks to other posts on this forum advising of the availability of BMWs, I requested one via phone call to the President's Club line after making the reservation, and prior to arrival.
To my surprise, it was sitting in the space with my name on the board and we drove right out without having to visit the kiosk to ask for something different (except I did jump out of the car and thank the staff for the nice upgrade before driving off). It was especially nice as we arrived after 11 pm following a long day of flying.

Went on a rental orgy to get hits for the US Grand Slam promo.

5 Nov. Rented a Subcompact, got a Subcompact. The agent knew what I was up to and gave the upgrade to someone else.

12 Nov. Rented an Intermediate, got a Full Size. Agent remembered me from the day before and told me that Avis offered multi-day rentals. I thanked him for the info.@:-)

Received Scenic automatic and asked why? It turns out that somehow automatic is showing up on all my AMS reservations. Which is not what I want. I asked for something else and was given an Opel Insignia which is a surprisingly good car. It's the first Opel that I've really liked.

Showed up and a Tahoe was waiting. I saw an X3 and another FX35 waiting for other people, so I asked if they had any X5s or other FX35s. The employee was amazingly helpful and ran inside to check while I waited in the Tahoe with the heat on. He came around with an FX35. Full navigation, working XM and only 335 miles on it.
