I will have to remember BMW for my next trip to PHX, where I have tons of relatives.
How has your CC membership been treating you?

Hey there! Yes, I am sure that the LaCrosse 6banger is more than sufficient, and I would love to try one out, since all three of my LaCrosse rentals have had 4bangers.

USirritated -
Power drop is significant - it's more than 100 HP and yes I do notice that when I put the foot down.
But 200 HP with a light frame still moves alot quicker than the impalas, suvs, trucks and other rubbish I normally get from Avis.
I had the G25 Journey($33k) which is all options minus the AWD for the G25. COmpared to the G37s - the installed options are identical except if you get into the Infiniti G37 Sport range($41k). (And I am yet to see one of those at ANY car rental lot)
Hope that helps Mr Chairman/s!

I had a loaded Infiniti G37, I think it was a G37x, including factory installed GPS as part of the media center (or whatever it's called), which I rented from Avis LAX about 17 months ago. However, from what I understand, there are few, maybe none now, loaded G37x's (maybe it was G37s, I can't remember, I am old) offered by Avis at any of their locations anymore. I also had a G37 (not x or s) from Avis ATL, and it was a great car, but it was not fully loaded with GPS, etc. Either way, the Infiniti G class is a very good car, just not quite as great with the lesser equipment and engine.

- Love the CHM statusBut yes I can honestly say it had been my favourite week in Dallas.
I just wanted to drive everywhere - I even offered folks pickups/dropoffs just so I could drive it around a bit.Black with white leather interior with a new car smell -- ah oh well. Hopefully more will come - will keep you posted.

BOS - Mid March - 10 day rental
Reserved a Premium (same price as full-size)
Needed an SUV, but not willing to spend the money.
President's Club through Continental Credit Card
Got an GMC Acadia - 7 seat SUV with lots of room for kids and snowboards. I was thrilled!

Reserved: Z Class Chevrolet Tahoe (example)
Received: Chevrolet Traverse AWD with 1700 on the clock and no xm.
Now that I think about it wouldn't this be a downgrade?

Yes, it would be a downgrade. A Tahoe is significantly larger than a Traverse.

Received: Nissan Altima 2.5 S with 450 miles on it
Don't know if this would be an upgrade. But I used a double upgrade coupon from Avis. Reserved the standard car and got an Altima. Was pretty new and enjoyed the car a lot.

The vehicle is very scraped and beat up, including a dent in the side door, which we've made sure has all been noted before driving off the lot.
It was an upgrade, but a bit of a disappointing one after our last few rentals (was upgraded to a loaded Cadillac SRX with leather, double-sunroof, built-in GPS, etc. last time). But honestly cannot complain.
MCO was nearly empty for cars and we asked for other options but they said that was the best available car on the lot since they were nearly sold out.
What was more frustrating was that our contract and car were not ready as usual when we arrived, and it took forever for them to find the reservation. Then once found, the agent didn't have the credit card, driver's license info, etc. which I had to provide, even though I have an existing account with all of that information loaded and available, and we've never experienced this in the past (and last rental was only 3 months ago). We had had a long delay with our luggage, added to a 20+ hour travel day, so the delay at the rental counter -- which is usually an efficient experience -- was a bit tiring.

Totally weird. cause my original rental said the coupon was accepted. Moreover, they charged me $335 for the rental, even though my original rental had said $285. The way it happened was that it had my name on the preferred board, but it said, CTR. I went to the counter and a lady helped me out.
Guess next time when I make this reservation again, I will be sure to ask about the coupon...
But the e-receipt says that I rented a Class E and was charged a Class D.

If I were you, I would call Avis customer service and complain. The best customer service agent is James Tucker, and you may reach him by calling 918-624-4216. Explain what was on your original paperwork, and that you were supposed to get a double upgrade, and give him your RA number, and I am guessing that James will process a partial refund to your credit card. Of course no promises, but that is my educated opinion, and what I have done in similar circumstances, and most of those times I have received a refund.
