As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

Im renting a lot and my AVIS location created an AWD and a discount for me. Its J323400. Feel free to use it - if it will give you a better price, no ID needed.
Was told it is Cityflex discount - mean it gives maximum discount in a number of a largest US cities and works the best on a long rentals.

But I have done a search (on Flyertalk and also Google) and nothing comes up.
Has anyone else had success with this code? I note that the poster of this code... this was their first post...!

Frankly I too am now moving away from using codes to which I am not entitled to codes to which I am (N744410 BA Gold). However, this applies to the USA only as I find that the staff in many of the locations are far from cordial. The worst oddly was not Miami but Rapid City.

I don't care if it's ethical or not but I often make duplicate car rental reservations. I can't remember the last time I had to rely on a back up reservation but I certainly needed it in TLV 2 weeks ago. Upon arriving at the Avis counter, all 3 counter agents were arguing with customers about discount codes. I had used A07400 for my reservation; a very commonly-used code that I have used more than 100 times over the past decade without any issues.
When it was my turn, I dealt with a rather unpleasant fella that interrogated me about the code and then flat out accused me of stealing from Avis for using the code. I simply asked if he was going to honor the reservation or not. He didn't answer me but started clacking on his keyboard and proceeded to tell me my rate would not be $504 instead of $177. I laughed at him and told him to cancel it. He seemed surprised as I walked away where those before me grudgingly paid whatever rate they were offered without a discount.
I went over to Hertz (ugh!) with my back up reservation and left with a car for $192. One other oddity in Israel, the rental car needed to have a 4-digit code (provided by the agent) entered into a keypad on the dashboard before the key would start the car. I've never seen this anywhere else in the world.

For cars worth $40k and up there is a requirement for a tracking device to be placed in the car, with a monthly fee paid by the car owner.

That AWD number is associated with EASTMAN KODAK. Please note you may be required to show proof of association to use the discount code.

Does anyone know why, with some codes and not others, the 'Pay Now' and 'Pay Later' options go away, and the only option is 'Select'? In the review process you can still pay at booking with a card, so I don't know why the options go away at the selection page.
