Apologies if this is not the right place but:

I've noticed previously that sometimes Avis will show different prices for the same vehicle and period if booked via the Avis website of another country. ie you live in the UK, need a car for a trip in the USA and book via Avis in The Netherlands.

Secondary items such as umlimted milage, LDW etc all appear to be the same too.

Eg prices on avis.co.uk will differ from prices on avis.nl. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower.

I tried this whilst logged in with my Avis PP account and my default AWD was recognised.

Aside from currency rate fluctuations, why would that be?

More importantly, would there be anything stopping us consumers from benefiting from these difference if you can find one that varies in your favour.

Yes, of course, you need to understand the language used, so I appreciate its not for everyone

Rates can vary based on the point of sale country. If you are a US resident and reserve your rental at one of Avis' European sites, then you may be denied at the rental counter due to an ineligible rate for your country of residence. We've seen it happen in the past for both Avis and Budget but YMMV.

Thanks for that. The booking does carry my actual and proper address and residency details meaning that I am not pretending to live somewhere where I do not.

Unless it somewhere in the T&Cs (anyone ever read these in detail?) the website themselves do not prompt you to visit 'your own' country site or suggest to pay in your own currency etc; in other words, Avis makes no (obvious) mention that this could be 'wrong' some how. in fact, their websites in other european countries quite happily take my Avis PP details where as the US sites doenst like my UK credentials at all. meaning I cannot book via Avis US and have it linked to my account.

Anyone else have experience with this?

I've seen its an Amazon leisure code.

AWD: D008400
Rate Code: R9

this is an airport pickup, avis preferred.

I didn't receive an email about it.

Did you get a message saying "the rate code you entered requires a discount number. Please go back and enter your discount number or remove the rate code you entered."? If so how did you get passed that?

CORPORATE RESERVATIONS REQUIRE ID VERIFICATION This reservation was made using a corporate AWD (Avis Worldwide Discount Code) that requires validation of eligibility. Please be prepared to produce your company ID, business card, or a recent email with the company’s email domain (e.g. xyzcompany.com) for employment verification purposes when picking up your vehicle.

Has anyone who has used this code made their own business card or bogus email to get past the counter? I am Avis preferred and go straight to the lot, should I expect any issues?

I'm Preferred Plus via Amex Plat--I've NEVER been asked to provide proof of code -have rented in different airports over the past couple of years, even going to the Preferred counter (which I've done 40% of the time if I don't like the car I'm assigned) never any issue.

Seeking Avis Code with significant discount for 2 week rental in Israel

Does anyone know of a good code in Israel? Ideally this would don't be a corporate code, as I hear that Avis sometimes asks for verification. Any advice will be very greatly appreciated. Prices are crazy right now.

MODERATOR'S NOTE: I've deleted many off-topic posts and posts that don't follow the thread request to list the AWD information instead of just the code. I've also moved the posts discussing Avis checking for verification for certain AWDs to the thread already in this forum discussing the emails/notifications Avis sent. Please keep this thread on-topic.

Newbie here and need some help!! I booked a car at AVIS in MIA in Florida using an AWD code found in this forum that offered an amazing rate (A113400 State of FL employee rate). I am also AVIS Preferred Plus through AMEX. My email confirmation states "Identity Verification Requirements This reservation was made using a corporate AWD (Avis Worldwide Discount Code) that requires validation of eligibility. Please be prepared to produce your company ID, business card, or a recent email with the company’s email domain for employment verification purposes when picking up your vehicle."

My questions are 1) Do they actually check IDs? 2) Is there anyway way that I can bypass the checkout counter using my Preferred Plus status and head to the lot to pick up my car?

Someone please help!

Discount codes aren't generally location-specific. Additionally, many of the ones floating around on the internet are corporate discount codes which may require proof of employment (enforcement varies). You may want to request a quote from AutoSlash as we offer discounted rates based on publicly available discount codes.

My hope is that I can go straight out to the lot with Preferred Plus via AMEX and won't be asked. Travelling with the kiddos, so really don't want to have to deal with this at MIA. I was thinking of making another reservation using AMEX's Preferred Plus coupon for a good rate, but it seems that there are cancellation fees. Anyone have experience with this?

Rented from Europcar french side this Christmas, got a car without winter tires and without swiss motorway vignette, But you could not beat the price, paid only 242 euro for 2 weeks for hybrid Toyota corolla, used Accor hotels promo code for 20% off 45450563
