I booked months ago using an AWD code. I think it was just from their "Offers" section on the Avis website, but cannot remember where I got it.
Should I just call Avis and ask? Update: I found the answer.... I did a Chat and the rep was able to tell me what it was for. |
What's best AWD for YVR? The rate is very high there.
|
Hi,
Just got back from YVR, we used the following two codes [MODERATOR DELETED] Coscto- A108335 The first one saved us from $135 to $70 a day. |
So probably the safest AWD to use with the biggest discount is Costco?

Any recent data points with the code B270898? It makes a week long rental in Greece £56 cheaper for me...
|
i booked with the same rate B270898 for the last week of October in Kos, which made it almost twice cheaper than any other code

So I delved into the manage my booking section of the Avis website and looked up the rental I booked with this code. The rental doesn’t seem to include CDW, personal accident insurance, windscreen damage waiver, and theft protection - it says I have declined them and need to pay extra to include any of them. Does this mean I would be required to pay any costs out of my own pocket if the car is damaged or stolen? If so, that makes this rate considerably less attractive, as I don’t have any car hire insurance with a credit card etc.

Do you happen to know any AWD available to the general public (not for company employees) which include insurance?
I got very nice deals for a 1-month rent in LAX through my company AWD with AVIS, around 750$ + Taxes for a Full-size sedan BUT whatever car I select they ask me nearly 270$ for LDW and 460$ for Liability (LAI). I'm from Italy and they told me they are never included in the price because Americans use to have their own insurance. |
Looking for some help for booking a car for my mother-in-law in Kona (pickup/drop off at KOA) 11/19-26. I have an AWD from my old employer that I have ID for but everything else is showing that the location is completely sold out and I'm concerned she'd get grilled for ID given it's more or less overriding the location being sold out.

There are two options here: 1. Extend the rental by 3 days and then just return it in 7 days as planned. Avis and Budget have availability for a 10-day rental. We're able to get the price down to around $860 including taxes and fees. There's a very good likelihood of getting $200+ back in credit for the early return, but it's tough to make any guarantees on this. You may want to request a quote from AutoSlash to check. 2. Pick up and return off-airport (the best deal) or pick up off-airport and return back to Kona (a bit pricier). Hertz has a location at The Fairmont Orchid in Wailea (1 N Kaniku Dr) which is the least expensive option (starting at about $420 including tax for a compact car for the week), but it's farther from the airport than Dollar/Thrifty which are in Kona. You can rent from there from about $585 but it may just pay to take a cab to the Fairmont and pick up from Hertz to save $. Hope this helps! Feel free to PM us if you need any assistance booking. |
Thank you! Love Autoslash btw :)
jFYI I randomly checked Costco today and was able to book a car for her for the 7 day duration for ~$390 at Alamo at their KOA location! Probably just luck of the draw but I definitely added it for tracking at Autoslash in case more options open up. edit: did I say I loved Autoslash already? :) You guys already found us a better price through priceline - ~$340 through Hertz. Thank you!! Forgot to quote the original post!

KOA and LIH have been particularly tight the past few months. You may not want to take the chance with the corporate code, otherwise, your mother-in-law may be stuck without a rental. A

Avis discounts via a 3rd country?
Apologies if this is not the right place but:
I've noticed previously that sometimes Avis will show different prices for the same vehicle and period if booked via the Avis website of another country. ie you live in the UK, need a car for a trip in the USA and book via Avis in The Netherlands. Secondary items such as umlimted milage, LDW etc all appear to be the same too. Eg prices on avis.co.uk will differ from prices on avis.nl. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower. I tried this whilst logged in with my Avis PP account and my default AWD was recognised. Aside from currency rate fluctuations, why would that be? More importantly, would there be anything stopping us consumers from benefiting from these difference if you can find one that varies in your favour. Yes, of course, you need to understand the language used, so I appreciate its not for everyone |
