Seriously though, welcome to Flyertalk. Do you work for Amazon? If not, that great deal you found may cost you a lot more than expected when they ask to see your Amazon employee id. As for whether a particular discount code is "best and cheapest", the answer is, it depends, but sine you gave zero information about your rental, it's an impossible question to answer. |
I am looking to rent a car for a week with unlimited miles and I知 not bothered about insurance. Can you tell me what more details do you need?

When you say that you are "not bothered about insurance," do you mean that you already have coverage for rental cars, or that you intend to drive with no coverage other than what the rental company might provide? In California, for example, the State requires that renters have third-party-liability insurance -- which the car-rental companies will be happy to sell to you at a significant daily cost. |
I have had this code in my profile for years and not sure where it came from. Lots of travel, cards, hotels, companies, etc.

Do you belong to any organizations that offer discounts, like AAA, AARP (even a younger person can become an "Associate Member"), Costco, Sam's Club, etc.? Are you an alumnus of a college or university whose alumni are permitted to use the school's car-rental contract "leisure" rates? |

Hello,
Thanks for your response and I am sorry for multiple posts as it was unintentional by doing it on phone. I currently have an intermediate SUV with Budget booked from Costco rental for $386.95. My wife has a separate booking for premium car for $374 from Avis. We are planning to see and request either one for a better mpg-small-mid size SUV from either one of them. I do have AARP membership (Avis standard SUV coming at $432 with their code) but did not find it better than Costco Travel. I do have the CorporateShopping.com membership signed up with my school email-ID (I am a FT student) and this one gives same Avis standard SUV for $403 (still Costco seems better). We both are also healthcare workers, does avis/budget give any discount or perks for that? |

Have you checked with your respective employers to see whether they have car-rental contracts, and whether employees are entitled to use those rates for leisure travel? On the Avis and Budget AARP webpages, you can find coupons good for a $15 discount and a $10 discount, respectively, off of rentals costing $175 or more. Coupon code might not be valid in conjunction with some rates. Edited to add: Do you have your own E-Z Pass transponder? If not, how do you plan to pay for tolls on your trip? |
Hi,
All the rates quoted are including all taxes & fees without any extra add-ons/insurance. We have a good coverage from our auto insurance that covers car rental. I have TicketsAtWork account from my employer. I did search on that site and actually found good deals from Thrifty shown below: My only issue is, I never rented from them and don't want to pay and get stuck with what ever I get if it makes sense. INTERMEDIATE SUVQ4 Nissan Rogue Or Similar45-01 20th Avenue, Laguardia Airport, Ny, 11105, US$45 /day Total with taxes $349 STANDARD-SIZE SUVL Chevrolet Equinox Or Similar45-01 20th Avenue, Laguardia Airport, Ny, 11105, US$46 /day Total with taxes $356 PAY NOW |

Do you have the tolls situation covered? |

I realize this thread is (in theory, at least) only for posting good AWD codes and associated information. But I would like to bring up this issue: what if you get a different result from booking on a website or app (say, Costco Travel) than you do booking on Avis website or app with the associated AWD code?
On the Avis app/website, I tried all four Costco AWD codes I found on this thread or elsewhere (A108303, A108325, A108326, A108335) and entered my Costco membership number as requested each time. With a given set of rental parameters, I got identical results from all four: about $624 estimated total (incl. taxes/fees, with no extras or add-ons). I logged into Costco Travel, and using the exact same rental parameters, got an estimated total of about $552. (And it isn't just a momentary glitch: I've seen this phenomenon repeatedly.) Am I missing something? Is there a coupon code I should have entered on the Avis app/website, in addition to the AWD? Anyhow, unless there is a simple explanation for the discrepancy, it might be a good idea to try booking on Costco Travel rather than always relying on the Avis app/website, if Costco is the discount you are seeking. |
Anyone know the AWD A139300?
I was trying different awd and codes (avis.com), had typed in an awd, it came up "that code is invalid, click here and get the same 15% off". I did and clicked search, the prices dropped with $20/day. I looked and in the awd box was A139300. I don't know where it came from and where it's from and if I can use it... 🤔 |
