Can anyone tell me if this promo has the usual Lifemiles deal caveat that the freq flyer account must have been established for 2 weeks or so prior to the deal? I'm wondering if I can sign up now and still buy miles towards the end of the promo period.

Just try it. If it shows you the bonus miles before you pay then I don't see why not.

I always get lumped with that on my Citi card but end up using it anyway due to the better miles ratio.

Update: I enrolled and according to the bonus miles calculator, I'm eligible for the extra miles immediately. I think I'll take the tip from above and wait until closer to the end of the promo (hoping I don't forget) and

The fine print at the bottom of my offer email contains this nonsense buried in Lines 8-9:
"The maximum amount of miles to receive by a member per calendar year is 150,000 LifeMiles (including miles purchased and bonuses received)."
I guess that LM don't bother to proofread their fine print.
I am sure that you can buy 150K and get bonus in addition.

I am flying AV on Friday, MDE-SAL-DFW, returning Sunday, UA DFW-IAH AV IAH-SAL-MDE. It's an award ticket, but Lifemiles showed all flights sold out in all cabins when I tried to use my over-sized stash of LM.
This ticket was purchased using miles from my M+ account, along with many other options.
I truly regret buying so many Lifemiles on one of the 2x1+ promos last year. Never again.

Yes. And i went back to check on the previous postings, they have offered 150% or even higher towards the end of the promo period. Just have to hang tight and hope they have the same promo!

I have enough lying around in any case - each time I haven't been able to book the flights United shows, or cannot fly the ones we have booked, then cancelled them...
