I just had a look at options for increasing my LMs as a function of lifemiles earned.

In December I earned 10,000LMs so they let you buy 2x that at a 48% discount. That's 1.75ą each instead of 3.3ą each. Plus I get an extra 15% off if I pay for them with a LM credit card.

At this point I have actually screwed up this illustration. The option has now disappeared from their website but I think I was buying about 10500 LMs for about $156 so about 1.48ą each

Buying 10000 on the 2x1 is $165 so 1.65ą each

If I buy 60000 on the 2x1 I get 69000 so 1.53ą each

If I buy 110000 on the 2x1 I get 247500 so 1.46 each

So looks like for less than 101000 and max bonus, the triplicate thing is actually cheapest

Yes, as Lifemiles handles their own transactions and doesn't go thru points.com like most other programs.

I wouldn't advise anyone making a purchase of LM miles unless you need it for a booking ASAP. History has shown us that if LM doesn't see sales take-off they usually add an additional bonus towards the end of the sale period

0.033 per miles...
I tried to purchase 145,000, and can have 181,250 bonus miles, total cost is USD4,850.

but for 150,000, it does not have bonus miles...a bit weird.

for my credit card, can get 14% cash rebate. it is a good deal.

so how do you get to the max 337,500 miles if 150,000 does not have a bonus?? Seems like a bug..

edit: Seems to get bonus miles at 150,000...?

This always happens if you have bought any miles of your regular 150.000 miles allowance earlier this calender year.

So, did you buy any miles (probably 5000 miles) this year?
