As of June 2014 Membership Rewards (USA) has implemented software which prevents linking of airline and hotel accounts for anyone who is not a cardholder on the American Express account. Please click HERE to read the new thread.
----------------------------------------
So far transfers from Membership Rewards USA to another's FFP have only been refused for:
Emirates

Transfer rules for American Express accounts issued in other countries are more restrictive.

Yes, Did it yesterday
You can transfer MR points to someone else through the Amex site. I just did it yesterday by linking to a FF program. It does take a few days to clear depending on the airline. You can delink the accounts at that point. I was told by an Amex Rep this could take 5-7 days.

Yes I have done this just recently.
I had previously "linked" my wife's Delta SkyMiles FF account, and it also happened that she was an authorized user on one of my AMEX cc's. So the whole process of transferring AMEX MR points into her SkyMiles FF account went quite smoothly -- the added miles showed up within minutes I would say.

For some reason, we always get an error message and it requires a call to Amex, but it is a quick procedure and the miles are there almost immediately.

Anyone with a non-US AMEX card able to do this?
I'm just wondering whether anyone with a German/UK/Australian Amex card has been able to transfer MR points to secondary card holders in the past?

A FF account can only be linked to one Membership Rewards account at a time so just make sure the other person's FF account is not currently linked to a MR account or you will get an error. If it is just delink it and link it to you MR account.
Otherwise it's totally simple and instantaneous for most partners.

Any experience with Aeroplan? I might have a friend transfer to my acct - can they link online and transfer right away? I know if a link is active the miles move instantly but I'm not sure how setting up a new link would worj.

Can anyone comment on the non-US Amex cards? Does it work for those, too?

I just get free additional cards for my kids and transfer to who ever needs it.
You have to link their FF accts
I have seen posts that you can just add anyones ff accounts,
but I do not know if anyone is policing and preventing it.
would doubt that very much
