80k Hilton to keep Aspire, no minimum spend. I wanted to downgrade to no fee Hilton, but balked at their prorating of annual fee (which is due this month), as it would have cost me $35. When I told them "cancel" they offered me 80k.
I never got a bonus for upgrading from Surpass, so this may have been a special deal.

10K offered and accepted on Gold, fourth renewal, significant usage mostly in bonus categories. No offer on Schwab Plat but just passed first anniversary and fee hasn't posted yet, so will try again after fee posts.

Schwab Personal Platinum, second renewal. I’m fairly certain I didn’t get a retention offer last year. Don’t remember one, and don’t see any large point/statement credits. Told chat I want to cancel, they moved me to the account services. Gave me a long chat about all the other benefits and how they pay for themselves, kept saying the annual fee was too high for lack of knowing how much I’d travel this year. Thought he was just dancing around it until getting to the offer. Then he just said well if the benefits aren’t enough I can just go through with the cancellation.
At that point I asked if there was any fee waiver or bonus points available and was told no. Said I’d think about it and reach back out. I have until 2/10 when the 30 day mark hits.

Personal Gold DP -- first anniversary fee posted a few days ago. I asked for offer over chat. After a bit of back and forth about benefits I might not be using etc I was offered 10k points with no spend requirement. A bit more pushing and they offered $75 credit for $750 spend requirement. I just took the points. No real intention to close the card.
My spend on the Gold was a little less than $15k in 2020, although total spend with Amex is in the neighborhood of 40k (mostly on Blue Business Plus).
Was hoping for a bit better offer, not sure if phone yields better result. Last year I cancelled my Amex Platinum after getting a mediocre retention offer (planning to switch to Schwab Platinum once we are able to travel), amazing to hear about folks getting $500 credit with no requirements and without blockbuster spending. I haven't had that kind of luck with retention so far.

I was just offered 20K MR without any spend requirement on my Amex Platinum Personal card which I kept for 2 years. I ended up not taking it and closing the card since I don't have plans for travel in the near future due to COVID (if I did have more travel plans, I would have taken the offer).

Amex Delta Platinum, 1st year renewal. Offered 30K Delta SkyMiles for keeping the card open. Also grandfathered into $195 AF, not $250 to make this a good value. Kept card open.
