I had applied for the Amex Gold on the release day and applied under the 50k MR sign up bonus. I just got my first statement. I know that the annual fee increased from 195 to $250 however on my statement it showed $195 annual fee. I'm not complaining, since that is lower but I'm hoping I still get the 50k MR points instead of lowered one. Anyone else just get their first statement and getting the lower annual fee?

Please look at that list again. While it may seem like a never endless of cities, it's a somewhat limited list of states (with some exceptions, mostly focusing on the most populated states). There are oodles of states that are not on the list. I don't see what's so "random" about living in Oregon, Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, North Carolina, Hawaii, Alaska, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Maine, New Hampshire, Missouri, New Mexico, Arkansas, etc, etc. Huge sections of the USA are not supported.

Looks the minimum order can change demanding on demand. The $40 minimum order on Friday at 12.30pm is not there same day at 8pm.

good to know there's some hope of keeping the credit useful.

I just got approved for this card!
Has anyone tried purchasing delta gift cards in $50 increments?

As well know, that clearly works for the amex platinum airline credit!
I plan to do the same with this new card.

Also, the benefit for grubhub and seamless is just too easy...I live in the city and order out a lot.

I did it. 2x $50 delta in separate purchases. Both reimbursed.

Shop Rite liquors is coding at 1x despite being listed as Groceries.

The attached Shop Rite grocery store is getting 4x with the same category tag.

Just following up on a previous post:

I applied and got approved for the revamped Gold card on Oct 4. I applied through a referral link that offered 50,000 MRs after spending $2,000 and, today, an annual fee of $195 posted. Anyone else being this lucky? The offer didn't mention anything about the annual fee being less.

I think in general there must have been some oversight on this card’s release. They clearly were not prepared for the demand, and as I mentioned a couple of posts ago, I also applied on the 4th and it shipped with t&c that stated $195 fee. The $195 posted at statement close yesterday for me. I wonder when cards started shipping with updated t&c showing the $250 fee?

Interesting. Did you apply through a referral link as well?

I applied yesterday through a ref link for 50k MR points and it clearly stated the $250 annual fee on several pages.

Should have been charged $249 annual fee, the $195 fee posted.

I applied/opened the new Gold Card on the day it was available, Oct. 4th The new billing cycle started today, I was charged the old AF rate of $195 instead of $249. Anyone else experience this?

Only renewals after April 2019 or something like that will be charged at $250.
