Good for you. I reluctantly renewed two months ago, with plans to travel thru LAX this summer and fall. The Amex rep mentioned the LAX lounge. Think I'll call them and tell them they don't keep their promises.

Agreed. I have another flight out of LAX on Sunday and was looking forward to at least a “grab bag”. Between the Centurion and Star Alliance Lounge closures, LAX is losing a lot of its appeal. Is there any indication as what repairs they are making?

Its strange to me that they need to close for repairs for a club that never really opened and only needs to use the front lobby

LAX has much bigger issues than the current absence of open lounges in TBIT. Such as the ongoing construction (including in particular the demolition of T3 and significant ongoing work at TBIT) and the return of gridlock to the roadways. To me, the TBIT lounge situation is a minor blip compared to those issues.

So naturally, it is closing during the first week of COVID reopening... Amex is all about impeccable timing.

So I'm wondering why the CL was grab and go in the first place. The AA Admirals Club was open and the Alaska Club was open. Indeed the Alaska Club food procedure was the same as you would find in the CLs in DFW, PHL, CLT, and MIA.
This feels like a major bovine fecal matter move by Amex.

its just a weird coincidence and then amex was grab and go even though lounges were allowed to be open at certain capacity in los angeles. like the other domestic lounges.
