Trip over past week.

DCA-MIA - upgraded back in February with SWU
MIA-STX - #1 of #22 on list (thanks to SWU) - did not clear
STX-MIA - #2 of #10 on the list - one cleared
MIA-DCA - cleared at T-25 hours (much to my surprise).

PHX - IAH upgraded at the gate just now. PPro and I was first on the upgrade list. Looking forward to my cardboard lunch box!

Got a couple of good upgrades for my mom (no status)

4/01/25 DEL-JFK: Upgraded - flight was J4 for the last week. Went to J2 at T48. 1 C popped up at T26, called and cleared her.

4/02/25 JFK-SFO: Upgraded - the DEL-JFK flight was stuck in ticket pending. I called AA back to get it reticketed. They were able to confirm this flight also. Was very surprised as the flight was J1 and I was able to upgrade at T40 or so

On my return flight IAH --> PHX last night (6pm departure) I was 13th on the upgrade list with 0 seats available, lol! They asked for volunteers to switch flights in the app but none were needed (as usual).

3/30 AA3426 GSP->DFW in an E170 - no upgrade; by a week prior to the flight F was fully booked. I was #2 on a list of 16 for upgrade and no one cleared.

3/30 DFW->SMF in an A321. I actually paid for an upgrade a couple of weeks prior because it was an absolute steal. I pay for an upgrade maybe once a year, only if it is stupidly cheap and I don't think I will get a comp. There were around 25 people on the upgrade list and 2 cleared. Doubt coming out of DFW I would have been one of those two, with my 500-600k 12 mo rolling LP.

4/7 AA2081 SMF->DFW in an A321 - cleared T-26 - nice because I got to pre order a meal since >24h ahead. No one cleared comp upgrades until this point, which I know because there were 6 open F seats the entire time from T-120 until T-26. There were 4 open once my upgrade hit, so someone else got a comp then as well. At T-24, just now, there all of the sudden is 1 F seat available, so I assume 3 more people cleared at that time point. I wonder if the CK/EXP, or CK/EXP/PP/P all upgraded at T-26, then maybe golds at T-24? Or maybe PP/P/Gold at T-24? Nonrevs? Who knows.

4/7 AA2992 DFW->GSP in an A320 - cleared T-100. At the T-24 mark for the itinerary, and about T-30 for the flight, there were still 3 F seats open. That number dropped to 1 seat at T-24.

Greetings from the Pee Dee! Almost moved to Greenville last year, but some stuff happened a little over 1 year ago that made wife's home town here on the other end of the state the clear choice for that.

#1/0 tonight CLT-STL. Was #1/1 when I woke up this morning, but alas, things have since changed. 8 hours till boarding, so a puncher's chance someone changes plans or what have you.

After first leg (FLO -> CLT - as usual was a half-full 145. FA managed to distribute pretzels somehow - first time that's ever happened), showing #1 / 1. fingers crossed.

Cleared by the time I got to gate. Huzzah!

Last Saturday JFK/LAX granted 6AM flight one on the upgrade list which cleared. Think a non rever took the F seat open. Seemed chummy with the GA before hand time.

4/10 DFW-LHR. Flight was F4 J5 just a few days before the flight then went to F0 J0 a couple days prior.

I was resigned to sitting in 20L and was settling in when I saw on the F upgrade list a new person was added and cleared. Sure enough a couple mins later the FA comes up and says 9A is open if I want it but there's an issue. I expected them to say the seat wouldn't recline or something. Turns out just the IFE was broken. I gladly took the battlefield upgrade, especially on my birthday!

4/11 - VCE-PHL - #1 on list and 1 seat available at T-24. Cleared almost immediately after luggage drop.

Weirdly, PE was basically wide open despite showing every seat taken. This is the second time I’ve seen this on a TATL.

Had been monitoring AA 45 (CDG-JFK) for dates later this month for my spouse.

This morning, SWU was available on her preferred day.

Booked her ticket, called AA EXP, paid the 'luxury tax' of $88 and her ticket is now good in J.

Today I continued my remarkable run of being upgraded on every main cabin booking I have made so far this year as a barely ExPlat.

4/11/25

SMF-PHX E-175. 1 out of 7 for two seats. I cleared 40 minutes before the flight, and #2 received a battlefield upgrade. The app showed zero seats available all day; I have learned that the app isn't always accurate.

PHX-GJT CRJ-700. I cleared at 26 hours before the flight. There were ten on the list at departure and nobody cleared prior to departure. In this case, the zero seats available on the app was accurate.

I will see if I can keep the streak going when fly back to Oklahoma in ten days.

4/10/25 Flight 2767 DFW-LAX on a 777. Not surprisingly to anyone at all, I was number 41/53 as newly demoted to Platinum. The cheapest I saw the paid upgrade offer go was $308. I was happy with my MCE at 15A on a basic economy cheap ticket though.

4/8/25 DFW-LAS: 10 out of 53 for 1 seats.
4/12/25 LAS-DFW: 3 out of 17 for 1 seats.
4/12/25 DFW-TPA: Cleared at T-100
