4/13/25 LAS-ORD (10:15am dep): We were #17/18 for 0 seats (EXP with 275k rolling LPs). We've had really decent upgrade success since my hubby became EXP being ORD based....so being that far down was a bit surprising. I have decided though I'd rather be #17 and not clear than #1 and not clear :)

Well, think I should buy a lottery ticket or thereabouts. Perusing flights from NYC -> Europe with a return of TLV -> NYC.
JFK -> ATH direct in Y in 3 weeks time, J7 but EF showing C0. Was able to find award space on BA TLV-LHR-JFK confirmable. Booked a $800 multi-stop JFK -> ATH (Y) // TLV - LHR - JFK PE. Called in right away BA confirmed to J, agent on the phone came back surprised and asked if I wanted "All" segments upgraded, but said I didn't see the outbound available. On their end, it was available. So within 1 hour all segments confirmed to J via SWU. As a reference PE had W1 and upgrades to J were selling for $1300 I had been pondering if my 250k LP choice of 2 more SWUs was the right choice, but seems I've already put them to good use. |
Yesterday PHX/MIA 321neo two upgraders bounced out of F because weight and balance issues. Less than 60 paxs in coach. Presumably they may have gotten a row to themselves sans the $5 Wawa meal. I got an empty seat next to me.

DEN-DFW, A321, Tuesday, 6am - cleared at 100 hours DFW-PVG, 789, Tuesday, 10am (AA127) - Y-->J SWU cleared at gate EXP, probably around 300k rolling LP |
Yesterday: MSP-LGA (AA 4523) I was 1 out 3 on upgrade list for 4 First class seats on Embraer 175.
They only cleared the upgrade at the gate, 10 min before boarding :mad: Was AA hoping to sell 4 seats on the very same day? |

4/22 DFW-IAH
Cleared one hour before departure which I thought was odd (usually T-40). 2 cleared with 1 seat showing available. Got to gate and my seat disappeared. GA said equip change but it didn't appear to have that I could tell and they had bumped paying F pax to Y and had to fix that. I got bumped back to Y and lost my original MCE seat. Right before departure got upgraded back to F. So within an hour I had 4 different seat assignments 🤣 |
Wife and I cleared CLT-AUS at just about T-25. EP with ~300K LP.
Really glad to have gotten this one - wife's in a walking boot, so being up front will be even better than usual.

This week:
HND-LAX, 788, Sunday, 745pm (AA26), Y- ->J SWU - did not clear. Was offered and declined a PE window seat in favor of keeping 20C (infinite legroom exit row aisle). Slept 8 of the 9.5 hours. Probably a blessing in disguise that I didn’t burn the SWU on this flight (given the number of TPACs I’ve got still to come this year and only 3 remaining SWUs). LAX-PHX, A321, Sunday, 430pm - did not clear. [Hub-to-hub…] PHX-ABQ, E75, Sunday, 7pm - cleared at 100 hours |
Yesterday DCA/MIA 3 cleared onboard. Coach seemed empty. We boarded late but boarding took all of 15 minutes.

Cleared T-25.5 for both wife and I for the return AUS -> CLT for 4/29. Kind of surprised that it took that long to clear - relatively empty flight and 9+ F seats for sale all the way up until upgrade cleared for us.

Holy smokes. Upgraded DCA-MIA at T-100...... Maybe I should go to church this afternoon.

Op-upped from W to J on Cathay SFO-HKG, apx 11pm departure on a Friday. This is my second W to J op-up this calendar year. |
