Rome + July + Dallas = .01% chance you will see any upgrade space open before ~24 hrs before the flight if there even any J seats left for sale at that point. |

Well, Ive been watching a trip this week very closely and have come to some conclusions on certain aircraft. For the aircraft with 9 F seats, AA will upgrade at the 100 hour window up to 3 passengers. Beyond the 3, it appears that AA is waiting for in app or spot upgrade purchases. Beyond that, after 100 hours, it appears that AA waits until about T-26 or T-25 hours and then does a mass upgrade clearing of everyone who was on the upgrade request list consistent with AA's upgrade priority standards.

hard pass. I’d rather write a check for $400 and leave it on the 10 freeway. |

Hoping to fly AUS to INC end of April. I had a free trial to expert flyer and no C fares available for any flights until 24-48 hours prior.
I'm thinking of flying Tuesday 28th April DFW to INC. There appears to be a huge amount of business seats for sale (so lots of availability) What do you think my chances of upgrade are? Im platinum. There's 2 of us. I figured flying on a Tuesday might have more of a chance, less business traveller's? Haven't booked anything yet - wanted to get peoples thoughts on my "strategy" , open to flying a different date! Thanks |
