and honestly, it’s harder and harder to get an upgrade 24 hours out, let alone100 hours out.

I can usually get lucky getting the battlefield upgrade on a regional.

But I really don’t think it’s worth it to me other than the mileage boost because they have trained me to if the upgrade gets cheap. I’ll buy it because I’ll notice the seats are starting to disappear on EF.

but honestly the experience really isn’t worth the money most days. You’re lucky to get PDB. The meals are subpar IMO. But then again I only fly international once or twice a year or so.

To add some encouragement to this thread my wife (high LP Gold) and son managed to clear DFW-BIL at the 24 hour Gold window.

I do DFW-BIL 6-7x annually and I’ve never missed an upgrade as mid level EP. The hub to hub are a different story.

I have a SWU request for a flight later this evening but do not see my name in the waitlist. Is this normal?

I would up and have them look into it. I have had this happen, typically when applying a SWU after check-in or a change on the flight feeding my international segment. It is fixable by the agents, but they typically need to make a call to another desk.

Alternatively, your upgrade cleared and you need to refresh the app :cool:

5/28 DFW-DCA cleared upgrade as EP with ~350k LP last year. One person cleared behind me

We'll we're less than 48 hours away from a short (less than 350 mile flight). 6 seats open in F and 7 passengers booked into the "orange" seats. Still no upgrades.

Exactly, it is normal if you are not checked in. The waitlist you can view in the app is the airport waitlist, you are not on that until you check-in.

The new normal is that almost nothing clears prior to 25 hours before departure, even on flights where F is obviously going to be undersold. Then at around T-25 hours they clear a lot down to somewhere between J1 and J3.
