PLT 80K rolling 12M

9/11: PIT - PHX, 6/14, 1 cleared at gate
9/15: PHX - SEA (AS metal) 6/14 ( 2 cleared)
9/19: SEA - PIT (AS metal- red eye) 4/15 (1 cleared)

Remind the reasons why it might be that I am 1st on the waitlist (23 total) and hubby is #6? We are on the same PNR. I know I’ve read about this issue before, but I can’t find the info. Thank for any help.

If you and your hubby both have status then you will be split up on the airport waitlist based on your individual statuses. You have to talk to an agent who can manually fix it to make him inherit your status.

Thank you for your reply. My bad - I should have said in my post that hubby has zero status. So what might the reasoning be given that add’l info?

I’m now #2 and he’s #7 out of 24 on a flight with 0 FC available, so we won’t get an upgrade. But I thought I’d find out about a situation such as this in case it comes up in the future, then I would know the appropriate action to take (if any).

Then that is definitely strange and not correct, he should be right behind you on the list. I'd ask somwone at the airport if they can reconnect you as something is off.

I’m sitting at the gate. GA was no help - he said if hubby has no status he would be lower down the list (we know that is wrong; he inherits my EP status, besides how would a no status end up 7/24). FC is checked in full now so pretty much no chance of upgrade. Just so weird how this happened.

NB: Just called Exec Plat line. She had no clue why he’s #7. She kept saying if he’s my companion, he will upgrade with me. Unbelievable.

2 new GAs showed up. They said it’s a glitch. SMH.

GA just came to my seat for a battlefield upgrade. Only one seat available, so I declined. Didn’t want to leave my hubby hanging. Guy across the aisle was happy he got it. Hubby & I will suffer in steerage, lol. 😂

SFO-PHX #6/26, upgrades were selling for ~$108 at least three days prior, with F being sold out two days before.

Scored a last minute battleground upgrade HSV-CLT yesterday on a 700 no less.

9/20/24 AA1866 PHX-ORD: 5/22 for 0 seats, no one cleared.

9/23/24 AA361 ORD-PHX: 2/12 for 0 seats, no one cleared.

9/23/24 AA6194 PHX-BUR: Cleared at the window. 10 on the list with one clearing at the gate.

Got the battlefield upgrade to J on AA 94 JFK-MAD.
not sure if it was a good move to apply a SWU on such a short flight (5h57 due to tailwinds).

5 out of 27 for 0 F seats dfw-Tpa today.
