is there anyway in the app to see # of F seats open for a current itinerary? as an EP, when looking at probablity of upgrade, have only looked at F inventory by searching flights as the "seats" button in current inventory doesnt show F inventory if you're not booked in F? thanks

Hi, I purchased an international round trip ticket in Premium Economy and immediately submitted my SWU requests to be waitlisted for J on both ways.

Today, I noticed that my ‘My Trips’ page is showing 3 separate entries for this one RT ticket, each with a different record locator: one for the original ticket I purchased, and two ‘on hold’ tickets that are marked as held until September 30—which is today (see below). A couple of days ago, it only showed the original entry, so this only happened in the last day or two.

Does anyone know if this might indicate that I’ve been cleared for the SWU? Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you, everyone.

This might have happened when you searched for the flights and didn't actually proceed to purchase. I suspect the other two PNRs will drop off tonight, and I don't think your SWUs cleared. I've never seen a cleared SWU create a new PNR.

Thanks for the input!!! This has never happened to me before (when SWU cleared), and we still have a whole month before the trip So, I got excited for nothing… Thanks, again, for the input. I will just sit tight and pray…

These SWUs are fried. I booked my DFW-BNE 26 Oct back in April & had it applied then. Still waiting; seat map shows 3 spot in J left, and it's not even sold for cash anymore, lmao. I'm doubtful there was this many cash payers for this new flight or this many SWUs ahead of me. Sanity check: people can just cut in line if they call in right when C is released, right? Smfh. Are my chances like 1% at this point?

Nvm, I chatted & they said it's completely full (despite seat map, ig ppl haven't selected). Dang, these are worthless.

Oct 26 is the inaugural flight of DFW-BNE. Not surprising at all that J is completely sold out weeks in advance, and there were most likely no seats ever released for upgrade so no one called in and skipped over you or anything like that.

Even on LAX-SYD which has been operating for almost 10 years now you almost never see any upgrade space released until 24-48 hrs before departure.

PHX-->MIA Sept 23, no upgrade
MIA-->SDQ Sept 23, no upgrade
SDQ-->MIA Oct 3, upgraded T-4
MIA-->PHX Oct 3, no upgrade
Platinum Pro, I have no idea what my six month rolling LPs are.
Also note that Sept 23 was a national holiday in the DR. That MIA-->SDQ flight was full full and my ticket was expensive af.

IT's 12 months, but being PP don't expect much since anyone with an AA CC can be EXP these days and will trump you.

Looking to book a quick trip in Feb 2025 to Europe for 2. DFW-MAD and MIA-MAD are both available for the same price. Both are C0 for SWU usage right now but the cabins are wide open (2 seats occupied on each).

Any thoughts on which is the best one to book to use SWUs? MIA-MAD is a 772, so it has 6 more seats (or 7, not sure if 1A is blocked on this flight length), which is a pro.

Penny for your thoughts.

I’d personally go with MIA for increased odds. Also, there are likely additional seats being sold in the market (IB and maybe UX) whereas DFW is only served by AA. All of that said, it is a ways away! I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some sporadic 3 am C space openings between now and then.

IB also runs out of DFW, albeit not everyday in February. I flew on MAD-DFW last November and remember there being 1-2 C that opened up two days prior, not saying its indicative of the future, but it seemed the DFW crowd was much more leisure travelers. So less likelihood of business/people traveling home, but also think the demographics of DFW favor you with less ex-pats or through passengers from SA.

2 for 1 today:

DEN-LAX, E75, Saturday, ~830pm: Cleared at 100 hours

- had to cancel that flight and switch to: -

OMA-LAX, E75, Saturday, ~730pm: Cleared at 26 hours

EXP, somewhere between 275k and 300k 12-month LP I'd guess.

Haven't flown AA metal in quite a bit but the last time I did I recall the only way to check comp upgrade likelihood was the J load on EF. Is this still the case? Flying a red-eye LAX-JFK on Friday night.
