From this past week -

BOS-CLT 738 Monday evening - Cleared at the window. Lengthy list, but many cleared due to a two hour delay.

CLT-BOS 738 Tuesday evening - Cleared the window for the late afternoon flight, but SDFC’d to the ~6:30. 20+ on the list with one clearing.

BOS-LGA 175 Thurs. morning - cleared at the window with a few open seats at pushback.

LGA-BOS 175 Friday night - cleared at the window. Five on the list with one clearing.

From past week travel:

LGA-DFW 738 Monday afternoon AA 1056 - cleared at the gate before boarding. Lots of people on the list due to bad weather day before with cancellations. I did not hope to clear as it showed 0 seats when I arrived at LGA.
DFW-LGA 738 Thursday noon AA 541 - cleared during check in 20 hours before departure. Over 20 people on the list with 1 clearing at the gate.

Wondering if someone could do me a huge favor and check EF to see if there's any C inventory on a flight later this week; we're in Brazil with spotty Internet and 25¢/min calling. But I just hit 250k LPs while on the trip, and if there's even wait-list availability for the return, I'll grab a couple SWUs and see if we get lucky (we did on the outbound, and it was great).

The flight in question is AA930, GRU-MIA this Friday, the 30th, leaving GRU at 21:30.

If someone can help by checking that, I'd really appreciate it. If there is a possibility, I'll go ahead and grab the SWUs and call AA from the hotel later.

Last minute emergency trip. DCA-IND-DCA. Booked on two separate tickets as I wanted the flex to change the return. DCA-IND was booked at T-2.25 hours so it didn't even give me the chance to upgrade (no "your upgrade is on request"). No biggie. IND-DCA was booked at T-26 hours and at T-24 hours I was upgraded. Playing dangerous with A319s but it had 4 seats open in F.

IND-DCA was a busy, busy route yesterday. Lots of overspill traffic that didn't want to pay ORD fares (owing to the DNC) were flying out of IND (and I suspect MKE as well).

Concur with your assessment of the DNC traffic. I was actually there and my RT PHL-ORD-PHL on Monday and Friday morning, respectively, were $650. Could've gotten it down to $300 if I took a connection through IND/CLE/CMH/PIT/etc.

8/26/24 PHL-DFW AA1278: Cleared at T-100
8/26/24 DFW-ONT AA1820: Cleared at T-100

Cleared on the 5am PHL-DFW and 8:30am DFW-ONT but was able to SDFC to the 8:45am PHL-DFW (AA771) and the 12:36pm DFW-ONT (2635). There were 51 on the list for the new PHL-DFW and 34 on the list for the new DFW-ONT, so needless to say I got very lucky.

So you were initially upgraded on 1278/1820, then switched to 771/2635- Did you also clear on those? Or do you mean that you got lucky by just getting on the flight?

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was upgraded on the initial flights and then utilized the same day flight change (SDFC) option which allowed me to preserve my upgrade and move directly into first on the new flights.

I just meant I was lucky that I 1. didn't have to take a 5am flight and 2. avoided being #20 on a 51 person list.

Got it. Just out of curiosity, do you have an estimate of your 12-month rolling LPs?

I finished last cycle with 202k LPs and currently have 31k LPs so not very high at all.

I did not think upgrades were preserved when changing flights.

I’ve also been able to confirm through upgrades on SDFCs as long as (it seems) the upgrades happened before I checked in.
