What are your thoughts on this flight JFK-DEL?
 

Bought a PE seat last week (full fare PE no less), then went to choose seats, and PE is oversold. I put in for a mileage upgrade (15k miles and no co-pay due to paying W class)

PE looks oversold as there are no seats for me to choose from. Seat map shows 5 seats in J, but EF shows J2. Not really interested in 14.5 hours in Y - anyone been downgraded in this scenario? PPRO for what it's worth.

EF wasn't bringing up anything that I searched for a number of routes so I cleared my cache and it started working but also having the same problem as spanihflea - EF must be down for obtaining seat maps.

Was able to choose a PE seat this morning. Will be interesting to see if any J upgrade happens

Got my hopes up this morning when I was #1 on list for 1 seat. Someone else snagged it around T-3. Had my hopes up again from 8F, but the last 2 folks showed up.

Update: plane change due to mechanical. Person in 3D was deemed too drunk to fly, so I got her seat.

DCA-ORD, 738, Tuesday, ~545pm: Cleared at 100 hours
ORD-DEN, 738, Tuesday, ~7pm: Cleared at 100 hours

The DCA-ORD was delayed long enough to bust my connection at ORD, so I moved to DCA-CLT-DEN. Voluntarily took coach on the short DCA-CLT, but kept the upgrade on CLT-DEN.

EXP, probably ~275k rolling LP if I had to guess. Not worth the effort to track this.

UPDATE: Upgrade for myself + no status companion confirmed at T-26 on AA1766 BOS-MIA on B738.

App was offering upgrade for $155. Seatmap remained at 8 F empty through T-48 until I last checked at T-32. At T-26 it looks like the system upgraded 5, as 5 MCE seats opened up and 5 F went occupied. At T-24 looks like 2 more lucky folks got upgrades (Gold's?).

I am looking around for flights to Bangkok on firm July 6-27 dates. Are chances of AA281 from DFW-ICN having a systemwide upgrade confirmed? The status for the passenger would be Gold. Currently at C0 but 10 months out.

Just called in and cleared a Y-->J SWU for a MIA-GRU flight on a Tuesday night 2.5 weeks from now. :tu:

I don't see the point in paying for EF. I just check availability on AA.com every so often and then call in if I see availability.

Then once it gets within 5 days of the flight, I just waitlist.

My apologies but it has been awhile since I was a road warrier. Back in the day, C inventory would open up but would not clear those on the waiting list, that was the reason for EF, is that still the case? I have an international trip with an upgrade using miles and need to know if I should resubscibe to EF to set an alert? Hoping to get this to clear before they make any changes to the miles upgrade process.

Hi all,

I have a question -
I’m a Platinum AA member, I booked a AA flight to JFK through BA (I had a BA e-voucher to use
and it’s BA on the return leg).

I received a notification on the AA app that the flight is overbooked. I called the Platinum team and they told me that I would have received a complimentary upgrade due to this but I booked through BA so they can’t process it.
I spoke to BA and they said they can’t upgrade me either.

Has anyone had this issue before?
Are no complimentary upgrade’s possible if you book through BA?
