AA is more work than my ex. |
Plat Pro is where it is at. No point to spend anymore or count on upgrades. Want first, buy first, any upgrades are an added bonus.

but at least I'm getting the 8ACDF bulk head seats (by the way I'm only getting them because AA blocks half of them (usually the DEF side) until usually 24 hours out and my EF seat alert grabs 'em.
You must have the worst luck with AA - my upgrade % is good, no problem getting bulkheads, etc. |

What? Just bought 3 tickets for travel - one in 2 weeks, and then May and June. 8 A through F were wide open.

I normally book my flights 2 weeks out and most of the time row 8 is gone or not available.

I don’t think AA is blocking 8 DEF… I think that Row 8 is usually gone by 2 weeks out, and then as people “kettle-up” to F :D, Row 8 tends to re-open. Just what I think could be occurring.

I am definitely going to shoot for PP this year instead of EXP. I have been upgraded exactly zero times.
The Emerald lounge access is important to me, so PP seems perfect. Sitting on PHX to DCA flight now and they did not bring a single snack, so that benefit seems worthless. FA said snacks are basically going away and she wishes they would go back to carrying food as it made everyone happier. |
Flagship First from JFK
Hi there - is there any status level that will allow me to experience Flagship First from JFK as a comp upgrade? Is this even possible? Or do upgrades to FF require SWU regardless of status? Thank you!

The only way to upgrade into first is to buy business and upgrade with miles/copay or a SWU, etc. You can also buy economy and then just see what kind of $$ upgrade AA offers you, sometimes they can be decent, sometimes not. |

here’s an example. I just booked this flight Clt-Tpa that is 3 weeks from tonight.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6ea0e2e111.png Surprised that the Miami route is this popular. The entire back of the plane is empty though... https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f38e22b3e.jpeg |

I think I have the same same luck as you, I struggle to get a decent seat and zero upgrades as an EXP. This is Phoenix to Miami on the 27th. No better coming back.
