Yes I see them but I've been using miles for J a lot or finding good J rev prices so I dont have much of a sample size on being in Y and looking for one. However, LAX-HND I couldnt believe it but the app offered a $564 buy up from Y to J (from only a $323 ticket). I jumped on that amazing deal.

Unfortunately the buy up offer for FLL-CLT is $1782 lol. So ya my Mom and I wlll be in Y for that short haul to get to the CLT-LAX J flight. My thing was just I thought i bought a F ticket and then was downgraded to Y as no F seats but apparently I was wrong b/c multiple agents are sayin they cant just move us to F now even though 2 seats are open.

do they count now? I bought one the other day and it still said no LPs

They'll count for the 2024/25 status year I believe.

What's my chance of upgrade flying between MIA-JFK on a 777-300er? My flight is in 8 days and there are 47 First class seats open in the app. EXP with 450k LP's for the year feel like it's looking good. Also is still rolling 12-month?

MIA-DEN upgrades were showing for ~$200 up to T-24 for J2, ended up being J0 T-12, sitting at 1/12 on UG list.

Just snagged a T-72 upgrade for my first flight after getting to PP! TLH->DCA on Thursday. None of my flights for this trip look too full, so I'm hopeful for all 4 segments.

Wound up both segments Thursday (tlh-dca-dtw). Neither on the return Saturday (dtw-dfw-tlh). 2 with zero and 1 with zero.

Little irked on the very last flight - was number 1 and we left and got to Tallahassee with 2A open (I think it was a missed connection) and they didn't let me move the 3 rows up. But that first row of economy was super comfy regardless.

If you don't get upgraded at T-100 I'd be shocked with those numbers,

They'll sell that cabin with app offers to Joe Kettle down to 0 seats before he gets upgraded.

Well, sure enough I was confirmed right at T100 and snagged two of the big 77W F seats. Excited, never sat in these, glad I get to see them before the phase out. Not getting the full F service, but at least I get to swivel the seats lol

So far this week both flights yesterday tpa-dfw and dfw-hou (CR7) were "kettled" down to 0. Tomorrow's flights iah-mia and mia-tpa are also in the process of being kettlized down to 0. That's the way it is these days. Glad to see poster above got his upgrade. He damn well should have with those LP's. I'm only at 260K LP's but at least I'm getting the 8ACDF bulk head seats (by the way I'm only getting them because AA blocks half of them (usually the DEF side) until usually 24 hours out and my EF seat alert grabs 'em.

AA is more work than my ex.

This term kettled is amusing, but here is the issue, there are EP's with 300K LP since they sit at home and use their CC for status, so people have gotten smart and will purchase the upgrade. You have the old mindset of, I'm a loyal FF for AA and I should get the upgrade first. Those days are gone, so my company pays for my ticket, and on flights longer than 2 hours, I am one of those kettles who purchase the upgrade.
