First has now gone for the flight. I must have bad luck, booked First in Sept three days ago and 24 hours later it was downgraded to Club. Now waiting to see if flight sticks and will get 75% refund - so a cheap ticket for sure....or if flight cancelled going to connect in DFW or LAX

Why doesn't PHX-XXX-LHR-BSL work for you then?
What's so special that you need to fly AA on PHX-LHR?
I've heard that some RDU based companies have the rule that they need to fly specifically on the RDU-LHR AA route; is the issue something similar to this?

Yes, because I had take nonstop flight PHX-LHR and then BSL. I have a good flight schedule. My flight is departing at 4:20pm and I arrived in London early. I just got there at 8:40am. An hours early. I have 4 hours layover. I got on next flight to Basel at 12:20pm. It’s very easy for me. I don’t have take 2 stops anymore. I flew on AA/BA.

Yes, I know. I already heard the news. I saw the forums. No need to ask.
