BA hasn't operated flights 288/289 for the past 17 months either, although it appears on the schedule at the end of Aug.

First has now gone for the flight. I must have bad luck, booked First in Sept three days ago and 24 hours later it was downgraded to Club. Now waiting to see if flight sticks and will get 75% refund - so a cheap ticket for sure....or if flight cancelled going to connect in DFW or LAX

Actually, it was 787-9 Dreamliner, not 787-8 Dreamliner.

Ahh, man!! I guess that I can’t go to Switzerland next year. I’m very disappointed. Still not ready to travel.

And plenty of other options as well. From PHX I’d probably position to LAX and take LX to be honest.

There are no options to ZUR, since that's not an airport. Perhaps you're referring to ZRH?

Thanks for the clarification. I have revised my original post and reason for such editing.

Why doesn't PHX-XXX-LHR-BSL work for you then?
What's so special that you need to fly AA on PHX-LHR?

I've heard that some RDU based companies have the rule that they need to fly specifically on the RDU-LHR AA route; is the issue something similar to this?

Yes, because I had take nonstop flight PHX-LHR and then BSL. I have a good flight schedule. My flight is departing at 4:20pm and I arrived in London early. I just got there at 8:40am. An hours early. I have 4 hours layover. I got on next flight to Basel at 12:20pm. It’s very easy for me. I don’t have take 2 stops anymore. I flew on AA/BA.

Or even better, just PHX-XXX-ZRH —> train. It’s barely even an hour by train from Zurich to Basel.

BA 288 returns to service in 11 days. It code shares as AA6999 arriving LHR at 13:15. Perhaps there is a later connection to BSL.

I can't. I had fly to BSL. They cannot go to ZRH anymore. Because they don't like Zurich. So please understand that I had fly to BSL instead. Where my brother pick me up. He lived in Basel.

Yes, I know. I already heard the news. I saw the forums. No need to ask.
