I am still a bit unclear as to how dining has changed with the lounge relaunch as all my visits since reopening were dinner time which was always better.
Could anyone give me a sense of what we can expect at lunchtime and early afternoon (12.30-3 transit)? Many thanks!!

The drinks selection has expanded quite a bit though.

I've been in three times, the earliest being around 2.45pm up until about 7.30pm. Food offerings have been pretty much the same for those hours compared to similarly timed visits to the old FL. Mo idea if breakfast is improved.
For those with access the FL Dining is probably going to be a big step up when it opens. Given the Sapphire and Business passengers will then be able to use the FL I have slim hope Emeralds will be able to use the new dining area regardless of ticket type.

I'm confused after 10 minutes of reading various threads. I am flying TAM J JFK-GIG next weekend. Do I have access to JFK flagship lounge or not?
It seems "starting in 2017" I should, but it also seems that era isn't upon us yet. Is that right?

Must have missed this. When was this announced? The FL lounge is busy already with OWE. AA only has 2 77W flights out of JFK (8 F each) and the JFK-LAX and SFO with 10 seats each. I don't see that moving these few people to dinning area will have much impact. Are they planning to expand again the FL in JFK.

I am not sure how AA is planning to fit all these passengers at JFK who'll have access though.

Here's a good piece-- one that has the facts-- for any who might have missed it:
http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea....class-lounges/
http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea....class-lounges/
American is Renovating Flagship Lounges, Opening New Ones, and Adding Business Class Access
...With the opening of each renovated club, the name International First Class lounge will change back to Flagship lounge and will add access for long haul and premium transcon business class passengers. (The new Dallas, Miami, and Philadelphia clubs will open as new Flagship Lounges from day one.)
...The plan is to have tableside service of pre-flight meals at four of the Flagship lounges: New York JFK, Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, and Miami.
...[Flagship dining] is more exclusive than Flagship lounge access — while Flagship lounges expand to business class customers, Flagship dining will be for first class — so it’s being rebranded from Flagship Dining to Flagship First Dining.

I'm sitting in the lounge now waiting to board flight to ZRH. My impression is architecturally and functionally it is a big step up. Much more open feeling with significantly more seating. The food selection feels a little less than what it was, but then again it is mid afternoon. Drink selection is good although I miss Titos and had to settle for Goose. Oh well. My only big complaint is the really really poor wi-if signal. My wife has given up trying to log in and I'm relying on my iPhone as my hotspot. If AA reads these threads I hope they take notice. Unacceptable.

Visited the "International First" lounge this week coming in from the early flight from LHR - good looking space, but I could imagine it would be very, very crowded in the later afternoon. Did the admirals club and flagship lounge simply swap places?

When entering, food-wise they had just soups n snacks, but at around 3-4pm they brought in warm food, and the salad was tasty ^and the roasted meat very good IMO while the pork meat was anywhere tasteless/bad.
Drinks I think everyone can find to their liking, plentiful.
Nice open atmosphere with views to Manhattan skyline. Did not check showers.
On a side note, my AY platinum (OWE) J ticket showed the lounge attendant as saphire (or did she try to fool me a trick to keep out) and she argued I cannot enter. Had to point out it is emerald and she did not even apologize.

I suppose it's nice that they have the Flagship Dining concept (although so far it sounds like the implementation is going to be more like BA's business class supper service than a proper First Class dining experience), but I don't understand why they don't want the three tiers of service that BA offers in JFK and LHR (Galleries/Galleries First/Concorde Room) if they want to introduce a high-end product for people actually flying in First. Also it just seems weird to finally introduce a product for those customers near the end of the process of tearing out most of the first class cabins. I suppose it makes sense they have this in both JFK and LAX, since there are going to be many more passengers eligible due to flying transcon than internationally.
