Hi All,
I tried searching but found conflicting answers. I have no status with AA. I'm currently waiting for C upgrade space to open up on a flight from BCN, I'm on the waitlist according the the aagent. If I buy MCE now, and then get upgraded, will I get a refund for my MCE spend?
Thanks

Probably a dumb question, but the prices on MCE don't start dropping as the departure date approaches, right? $68 for a t-con seems a little steep, but since its a redeye on a MR to regain my status I'm probably going to go for it.

AA MCE gone?
Me and my wife are booked on an AA flight tomorrow in the MCE cabin, we were booked in 17 A and C. When I checked my booking today I saw that we have been moved to 16 A and B. I have taken several AA flights in the MCE cabin lately and always in rows 16 or 17 and the middle seats have always been blocked. Does this mean that AA have abandoned the MCE concept?

AA have dramatically cut the number of MCE seats in the cabin. I was on an AA 738 yesterday and it was reduced to the first 3 rows of economy.
The middle seat in rows 16 &17 have been enhanced and are no longer blocked.

I think this belongs in the AA (pre merger) forum. IIRC AA has added a row to the plane (6 more seats) and unblocked the middle seats (4 more seats), totalling 10 more passengers.

AA MCE gone?
New AA is no longer blocking the middle seats of 16 & 17 and also added an extra row for a total of 10 extra seats. They are packing it tight there. What I dont get is why your seat was changed, I mean they still have 17a c.

They are currently in the process of converting the 738 fleet. At this point in time, you could still get either configuration.

Paid for Main Cabin Extra But No Seats on Plane
So I booked and paid for Main Cabin Extra on my flight to and from DFW-FLL. Going there no problem got the extra leg room and loved it. Coming back I get to my row and go to sit down and guess what; no extra leg room. Matter of fact the seats were so close together that I had trouble putting my carryon in front of the seat before me. I turned around and noticed that the people behind me had extra leg room and I asked them if they paid extra for those seats. They said no and then I saw that they were in the emergency exit rows. I then asked the FA what happened to the Main Cabin Extra seats and she says that this aircraft doesn't have any. So my question is why did they sell me those seats for an extra $37.89? I am assuming that they changed aircraft but I asked the FA if this was an older plane and she said no. I thought all of the new planes had the MCE on them so was pretty surprised. Regardless, I was told to fax in a refund request as they can't do refunds over the phone. The only saving grace about this situation was that there was no one in the middle seat. Has this happened to any other people and if so how long did it take to get a refund?
