May I be so stupid as to ask where the Flagship check-in is located in LAX? I will be there at the end of May for a LAX-JFK flight. Will they escort you to the FL (I'm flying F)? I did not get this benefit (flying J) a few weeks ago as noted above even as I left the terminal for fresh (ha ha its LA) air before returning to JFK.

Took me some time to find it too; but now we use it all the time. Last door to the left (i.e. closest door to terminal 5) on departures level - the door is accessed from the outside (curb side). There are pix at this thread - but its the one with the red carpet!

They will escort you to security entrance but not to FL.

Used the Flagship check in today at LAX and was very impressed with the service. I like being walked to the front of the security line.

I'm not sure how I qualified for Concierge Key. I fly a lot, more segments than miles (171) last year on American. I did recieve the extra SWU's which were great. However I am almost positive that I saw we were entitled to FL access but I was denied access at ORD. When I get home I am going to find my benefit book and review before I call and say something. Any thoughts?

Where were you flying? CK doesn't grant FL for domestic flights, though if you have an airport escort they sometimes deposit you there. You need to be ticketed in intl F or transcon F. OW emerald (non-AA) helps in these occasions.

Yep - FL access not a benefit. No idea why - seems like it was be an easy add and not cost that much given how few CK folks there are - but they don't include it. I, for one, would really value it.

I'm not CK, but anytime I've done FiveStar, if I asked for FL access they would always give to it me. Not exactly the same scenario, but there is a fair amount of overlap between CK and FiveStar.

Given that I have AAirpass, I've been tempted to book an international trip and just cancel it after getting my BP just to get access, granted you can do the same with any refundable fare, but with AAirpass it doesn't cost you anything to do it...in which case they might as well just give it to AAirpass members too (and Flagship checkin) since its so easy to circumvent.

I really don't get why they up'ed the level to $30k for CK for AAirpass. There are so few AAirpass members to begin with, and the Flagship Checkin people are about the only ones competent in dealing with AAirpass reservations. First class counter is always a disaster with AAirpass.

There's been some chatter on this thread

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...upgrade-4.html

and on Facebook about perhaps some changes to CK and treating like a separate tier above EXP for the purposes of upgrades. Anyone here have any insight?

I keep hearing that a new CK program is to be unveiled this Summer but that info is dated. I also have read that CKs are now being prioritized in the upgrade list above EXP but I have no proof of this.

You get EXP and A/C membership plus other goodies. FL access is based on the AA rules for admission. Please refer to this FT thread which provides links to useful information concerning access.

Recent CK experiences

For the record, I was in London two weeks ago with my family. We had one F seat and three C seats. When I passed through the final security check at the gate, I inquired about whether preboarding would be available for CK pax. I was told no unless I specifically requested it. I declined since we were already in the premium cabins.

Last week, I was flying ORD - NRT - ICN with the final leg in JL. When I landed in NRT, a young woman met me with my name on a sign, escorted me through security, and all the way to the JL lounge. I did not request this service but I thought it was a nice touch.

I am still waiting to hear about how AA enhances the CK program going forward.

Narita and Haneda have always been excellent when it comes to CK recognition. I am always met both ways and given an escort to the lounge and pre-boarded.^^^

I was recognized and acknowledged at LGA this morning in the AC and at the gate for my LGA-DFW flight. Let's see if I get the same at A13 in DFW for my onward to SMF. It's usually pretty good in DFW. BTW, the renovated low A gate area looks great.
