Flight 831 DFW-SEA chicken with veggies along with shrimp choice of bread and chocolate ice cream with nuts. Had warm nuts at first. All very good. I believe mastaccioli was other option. On ORD-LGA had same yogurt/fruit as pics by Sts603 took.

AA 1017
ORD-DEN
MD80
7:55PM-9:25PM
January 12, 2012
Departed 9/16
WiFi
PDB: Open Bar
Dinner

Same options as Monday. Choice of stuffed pasta shells or herb chicken in beurre blanc sauce with sweet potatoes and snap peas. Greek-ish salad and chocolate chip peanut butter cheesecake. Was a little concern when FA broke FEBO but with only 9 pax, there were enough chickens to go around by the time she got to 6E. Not a happy plane as the Broncos blew it just before push and captain announced the current DEN temp was 0 degrees F.

Menu is below. Ordered ahead of time online to get the 'beef filet' described online which was listed as chateaubriand in the menu. It was actually pretty good, though it would be nice if the FAs would serve the meals as courses (appetizer before entree) instead of all at once. It was kind of tacky.

Anyways, this was my first time seeing the new menu layout and I was not impressed! It reminds me of UAs old menus that were a sheet of paper folded in half. The previous AA menus comprised of multiple pages were MUCH better.

I remember a lot of potatoes. Don't recall beans and corn.

Transcon (MIA-LAX-MIA)

#277 MIA-LAX (Lunch)
Salad, bread, chicken pot pie or lemon and dill grilled salmon.
Small piece of salmon, little on the dry side, broccoli and new potatoes ok.
Dessert was ice cream with Heath bar crunch or cheese plate.
Cup of diced fruit or cookie offered middway.
F/A's knew what I had ordered in advance.
Seemed pretty much like other flights in F/C - only difference was the menu.
#252 LAX-MIA (Dinner)
Starter was prosciutto w/parmesan cheese and cantaloupe puree - exceptionally salty and very dry as well.
Salad w/cherry tomato, basic, sour cream - very good albeit small.
Entree choices were Four Cheese Ravioli or Chateaubriand which was dried out, very overcooked, and totally inedidble. F/A said "you should know better than to ask for steak" -
Ice cream sundae or cheese plate for dessert. Same fruit cocktail and cookie middway.
F/A's asked which entrees - did not use new "pre-order" info supplied.

Quite frankly, I've had better meals mid-con.

Agreed. Sometimes they try too hard on the transcon entrees and instead would be better sticking with the simpler midcon fare. That said, I had some great Fillets out of JFK late last year on SFO flights.

AA 1900 DFW-PHL
Scheduled @ 11:25
Actually left 1:25 thanks to ATC weather hold in PHL

PDB

Warm nuts in ramekins while sitting in the penalty box waiting out the ATC hold

Choice of beef teriyaki salad with udon noodles
or
Chicken Pot Pie Crepe
Oatmeal Cranberry cookie
No mints

Interestingly this time the crepe was the favorite, so row 6 ended up w/a choice of beef or beef.

Flew ORD-SFO on Tuesday and this was the same exact meal choices. Didn't eat either one and just ate the nuts.
No PDB despite being on time and long taxi.

My seatmate ordered the salad and was not impressed.

Also there was no choice to preorder the meal. Guess it is not rolled out to all flights?

If he meant the flight left at 14:30, it is lunch flight. Or he has the wrong flight number, as 1430 is not a DFW-LGA flight.
