2013 AA Domestic Meals - menus / menu, photos, etc. (consolidated)
Greetings and Happy New Year from the very aptly numbered AA 2013 ORD-LAS Dinner flight.
Warm nuts and beverages to start.
Entree choices were chicken breast served with sweet potatoes and peas or stuffed pasta shells.
Both were served with salad and shrimp appetizer. Dessert choices were fruit and cheese or chocolate ice cream topped with walnuts and marshmallows (no sludge).

DFW-MIA does not receive basic plus. I have travelled that route for dinner 15 times this year and never received anything but Basic service. No shrimp or ice cream.

Wirelessly posted (Apple iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_0_2 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10A551 Safari/8536.25)
DFW-DCA is Basic service rather than Basic Plus, my guess is because the market is less "premium" and/or competitive than NYC or BOS. Basic means the awful cheesecake; Basic Plus means the baked-on-board cookies OR sludge sundae (offered on Dinner flights DFW-NYC).
Basic: DFW-DCA/RDU/others
Basic Plus: DFW-NYC/BOS/MIA/West Coast

It does not look like the basic meals have been changed since the October revision...

Not surprising. I suspect AA is focusing its efforts at refreshing the menus in the longhaul international markets first, where the airline actually draws significant paid premium class traffic. Perhaps nonstop transcon (AFS) markets too.

After busy enhancing mid-con meals, did you forget about transcon? The egg frittata w/ ham and the new pastries like banana nut muffins are a gazillion times better than the cr@p skillet and nasty pita panini as well as never changing bagel or biscuit you serve on your transcontinental flights

SNA-DFW F breakfast (1/2/13): "Omelette" (dry eggs with a cheesy filling) and biscuit. Other option was "granola."
Barely edible, and not inspiring at all. :-(

RNO-DFW F breakfast: cold cereal, milk, and a warm piece of bread. That was all.
Listed as "continental breakfast" on AA.com.

01.02.12, DCA-DFW, Breakfast
01.02.13, DCA-DFW (737, new seats), 9:00a departure, breakfast
No pre-departure beverage
Choice of:
Quiche Lorraine or cereal (Honey Nut Cheerios)
Both served with fruit plate, choice of biscuit or cranberry muffin
I had the cereal and muffin. Was just fine. Quiche looked good; it came with asparagus spears.
Service was good.
