Tower is black, lots of damage, lots of debris.
Nobody serioursly injured, 2 to hospital. Lots of windows blown out in main terminal as shown.

Depends on your airline. KCI/MCI is less than four hours from STL. I think it's closer than MEM. There's also Columbia, Mo.
Joe McBride, the spokeswoman for KCI, says eight flights tonight are being diverted to KCI. He doesn't know yet the airlines comprising those eight.

Joe McBride, KCI spokesman, says Delta is expecting at least one diverted flight from St. Louis to land at KCI. I alerted the mods. Hopefully they'll change the thread title to reflect that an apparent tornado has hit Lambert Field.

Wow! I hope everyone is doing ok.
As far as alternatives, ORD is just as close as MEM and the closest major airport. Amtrak or megabus can cheaply transport between Chicago and St Louis. If you are able to fly to a smaller airport CMI and BMI are both about 3 hours away and have regular commercial service.

It looks like all AA flights into STL have been canceled or zeroed out for tomorrow. I rerouted through SPI and took what seems to be the very last seat on the flight from DFW. Got lucky. Hope weather cooperates and hope everyone here is ok.
