AA 118 on 1/17 is cancelled. Most flights to JFK are full for the day, but plenty of room on AA 548 and AA 1362 through ORD.

No cheesecake out currently, cookie bars are on offer. I had some sort of turtle toffee cake thing yesterday that was fabulous. I really dig this potato salad with huge chunks of egg and bacon (or is it bacos??)
Fire alarm going off, no one reacting.....

AA 133 JFK-LAX 1/19/11 delayed despite available planes
Go figure!
I am on 133 today scheduled to leave 3.30pm. Got a personal (!) call on the way to the airport about a 2 hour delay, wish I got the call while still in the city.
Apparently due to late incoming aircraft so I was told. Except, the real reason for that schedule change apparently was necessary because the 762 from MIA-JFK 1510 having arrived 2:25pm was pulled out of service (to fix power ports?).
Now the incoming AA34 scheduled arrival 4:52 now coming early (!) 4.25pm is to become 133.
Flight AA 181 scheduled for 4.45 pm on gate 8 is getting the 762 of AA 118 getting in 3:05 pm. What gives?? Why not the other way around???
Who does the scheduling? Somebodies common sense must have taken leave. Both flights 133 and 181 could have been accommodated with minimal delays for both flights.
Little bit annoyed about the heavy handed scheduling. Is this worth a letter to CS?

AA94 - JFK - MAD - 22nd Jan
Well this has been a fun evening so far...
First(!) plane - gate 45 -schedule for 17:25 departure...
Stopped half way through boarding as the flight deck had discovered an issue with the plane. Couldn't be fixed so...
Second(!!) plane - gate 43
They dragged one out of the hanger.. one problem it needed to complete ETOPS testing... of course all of us self loading freight were on the plane
You might ask yourself why they bothered loading us before the testing was complete...
Third(!!!) plane - gate 7
American found another plane (I was starting to look for a very large black hat near the terminal with an enormous hand pulling planes out of it at this stage!)
So it seemed a good time to go back to the flagship lounge for more coffee, Blue Moon and some chicken looking dish with rice
At 20:15 they called boarding and we finally left JFK for MAD
Speaking to the gate staff just before boarding - they were quite relieved they didn't get a hard time from **anyone** as they said they'd have gone ballistic in our place(!). However I get the impression that a few calls will be made to AA on Monday(!)
P.S. Naturally only one out of my two bags made it to my final destination!

More than 3 hours delay; 3 planes change...... maybe you could expect at least 18000 miles as compensation

Jan 17 / JFK-SEA / AA 269 / Delay
2.30hr delay JFK-SEA on a 738. Aircraft loaded up (to the gills). Once on board got the dreaded "Mechanics need to come on to sign off some paperwork and should only take a few minutes". Then they announced that it would be a few more minutes for the mechanics. Then it was an unknown timeframe (but my notifications from AA.com sure had schedule info). Then we were asked to disembark with all of our personal belongings as mechanics had to do some tests and we could not be on the plane. Finally reboarded and took off at 9:15pm versus the scheduled 6:45pm.
